Chapter 1

Hercules, Ares, and the Box

"Hercules, what DID you do to me?" Ares whispered in dead silence to his half brother.

The demi-god looked around at the strange room. It was dark except for a candle on top of a long black box, and he could hear something falling above him.

"Ares, what's in that box?" Hercules queried his brother, ignoring his question.

"Why don't you just look?" The wargod replied irritated. He didn't like this. Something was wrong.

"I don't think I'll have to," Hercules replied, and they both watched as the lid slowly began to open.

Ares and Hercules took two steps forward, Ares pulled his sword out, and Hercules took a defensive position, and both watched as a hand with an onyx ring clutched the lid...
