ADULT THE DEVILS' CHILD
Angelique looked at Nicholas in awe as he spoke to her. "You should be flattered, my dear." "Our Master has chosen you for the mother, and I for the father." "What a magnificent child we shall produce, Angelique!" His eyes blazed with excitement.
Nicholas continued to hold Angelique, while gently rocking her back and forth. "Our child will have your evil, and beauty." "Our child will also be wicked, and charming, as I." Nicholas told her.
Angelique was starting to become a little excited now. She had never been a mother before, not in her entire existence. At last she had a chance.
"You are not going to protest, Angelique, are you?" He asked her. "For, don't you know, that our Master shall be most unhappy with you?" "Don't you know that he could destroy you for disobeying him?" Nicholas asked her.
She turned to face him. "You mean, the way you have tried to destroy me, Nicholas?" She asked him.
"No, my dear; he shall do far worse to you." "He shall destroy you permanently!" "The beautiful witch, Angelique, will simply cease to exist." "You shall roam the earth no more." "You will not see your Barnabas Collins again." "In fact, you shall forget all about him." "You shall forget everything, even me, Angelique." He kissed her on the cheek.
"Please do not mention Barnabas to me." She pleaded with him.
"Yes, I know how "you become", when someone mentions his name." Nicholas said. "What is it about him, that makes you want him so?" "I, for the death of me, do not see it!" Said Nicholas.
She looked at him tenderly, and said, "I just love him, that is all I know." "I feel it in my heart, Nicholas." "There shall always be a special place in my heart for Barnabas." "I cannot help it." "After all this time, and after all the tragedy in our long lives, I find I cannot forget him." She told him, as she batted her green eyes at him.
Nicholas rested against the mantle, as he said to her, "I expect you are thinking you would like to be having Barnabas' child." He taunted her.
"Don't ever say that, Nicholas, for that shall never happen." She looked at him angrily now.
"I shall not mention it again,Angelique, for I see
how it upsets you." He said, walking over to her, and holding her once more.
He looked into her large, hypnotic, green eyes. "Why, Angelique, you are crying,
my dear." Nicholas stated. "Was it something
I said?" He asked her.
