The dark had come early this day, to the house by the sea. The rain was falling in a gentle mist this day.
Donamarie entered Blair house, after visiting Barnabas. She called to Nicholas, but received no reply.
The house was dark. She called to him again. I wonder
where he has gone? She wondered. Perhaps he has left a note. Just then without
warning, someone grabbed her from behind. She felt an arm around her throat!
She screamed into the darkness! "Hello my dear." He whispered to her. It was
Nicholas! She breathed a sigh of relief. "Nicholas, you've frightened me!" She
replied. "Did I ? " He said in low and sinister voice. "Yes, but I feel better
now that I know it is you, my love." She confessed. He held her tightly in his
grasp. "It has taken you quite some time to style your hair, my love." He said
in the same sinister voice. She quickly had to think of something to tell her
husband. She was now aware that he was becoming very suspicious of her activities.
"Yes Nicholas, they were extremely busy today." She lied to him. "I had a visitor
today, my dear." He told her. "Oh? Who was it, Nicholas?" She asked. Why is
he holding me so tightly? She wondered. He is almost choking me! "Angelique came
to see me." He replied, in the same low and sinister tone. "Angelique? Whatever
did she come here for?" She was now beginning to be quite worried. She must
have told Nicholas about her visit with Barnabas! "She told me that you went
to see him today." He tightened his hold around her neck. With his free hand
he began to unbutton her dress. She gasped as
he told her this. "Why did you go to Barnabas Collins, Mrs. Blair?" He asked.
"I went to ask him for advice." She told him. "About what?" He asked her. As
he spoke, his fingers slid behind the silk she wore, and he began to fondle
her. It was getting increasingly hard to talk as he did this. Oh, his touch
was driving her wild with desire! But his questions were making her quite afraid.
She didn't like the way he was acting. He had not acted this way before. "I
wanted to ask him for advice about paintings for our home, Nicholas." She lied
once more. "I have heard he has knowledge of the arts, Nicholas." She told him.
He now pulled her dress from her shoulders. He released his arm from her neck, and turned her to him, revealing her stunning beauty to him. He kissed each tender breast. He then gave her a kiss on the lips. His kiss was full of so much wicked passion, that she wanted him to take her now, right where they stood. "You must never betray me, Donamarie, for I should worry for you if you did." He told her. He is warning me..or is he threatening me? She wondered, even more afraid now.
Slowly but surely, her dress and clothing was gone from her body, falling to the floor in a heap. She stood naked before him now. He did not look so gentle and loving now, for he had an evil, sinister look about him. What shall he do to me now? She wondered. Her body trembled as she stood naked in the darkness.
Suddenly, she felt herself moving across the floor. She was moving across the room, but her feet were not. Nicholas stood still, casting a spell upon her to float through the air. When he stopped her, she was in front of the roaring fireplace. She then found herself lying on the rug before the fire.
Nicholas came to her, caressing her . "You must never betray me, Donamarie, you must never do that." With a wave of his magnificent hand, his clothing was gone. He proclaimed his love for her again, in front of the warmth of the fire.
