It's dedicated to my fellow Barnabas-Angelique listmembers, and. . . well
. . .you'll see!
1840
Barnabas clutched Angelique's body to him, gazing mournfully up at Julia. "She
was my only love. And I never knew it."
Barnabas gently lay Angelique's body back on the sofa. "The staircase!" He cried as he bolted from the drawing room.
Julia stood by crying futilely after him, "Barnabas!"

1970
Barnabas walked back up the stairs from the basement of Collinwood. Fortunately, the house was completely restored, and, for once, everyone in it was apparently either gone or asleep. He made his way quickly to the Old House.
Once there, he went to the basement, to the room where he kept his "brides." He opened the door. "Hello, my dears." He said. "I have a little work for you."
"What?" One of them demanded, her fangs glinting in the candlelight. "Why should we listen to you? You smell human again!"
"Trust me," he said. "You'll enjoy this. Have I ever misled you?"
1840
Barnabas directed his "brides" to the drawing room, but avoided going in there himself, at the risk of causing a major time-space conflict.
The women opened the drawing room doors, interrupting the confrontation between Trask and Angelique.
Trask stopped, transfixed by the three beauties, whose diaphonous gowns clung to their every curve, the iridescent material changing color as they moved.
"What do we have here?" Karen asked, intrigued. "It's a Trask."
"Yes." Styles pouted. "But it's Lamar Trask. What a wimp!"
Carol walked closer to him, gazing into his smouldering deep-set eyes. "Well, I think he has potential."
"To the prayer closet with him!" Styles declared, as the three women led him from the house.
Before the doors of the great house closed behind the foursome, the last words heard were Trask repeating "P-p-prayer closet?"
Barnabas and Angelique looked at each other, wide-eyed.
"That was the strangest thing I think I've ever seen. And I've seen some
strange things." Angelique said, then she returned to their previous conversation.
"What were you going to say?"
"I was going to say," Barnabas said, taking her in his arms. "That you were
my only love. And I never knew it. But I do now." And with those words, he kissed
her.
