The Culmination of Love and Recreation of Julia Hoffman
Julia's reaction to Barnabas of course she was surprised and needed time to think out the situation, particularly the logical Dr. Hoffman. Julia, of course was very happy. She had always loved Barnabas, nothing had changed that fact. Wherein, he now professed his love to her was in essence the culmination of their years together, struggles, efforts, and devotion for each other. She loved him as no woman could love a man. Apparently, now Barnabas love stricken also had difficulty in containing his love for her. He was yearning to be near here all the time and part of her live. He savored her company and yearned for her to be by her side. He was loyal, attentive, devoted and determined to win her favor and make her happy. She had at last united with her love and he with her.
She had communicated to Barnabas after his revelation of Love that she would do anything in her power to make him happy as she always had. She loved him so. He immediately of course wanted to be married on this day, but she implored him to wait until she felt ready. She felt it would not be long maybe a few days or less. So Barnabas devoted to her ,took temporary residence to be near Julia , until she would wed him. He would be near her and be able to watch her by residing at the New House with her.
He insisted that since they were not married, he would court her at the New House. And after they were married, then he would bring her home to the Old House. She didn't understand this, but went along with his wishes.
Julia took a temporary leave from Wyndcliffe to be near Barnabas and they spent their total waking time together actually planning on making their future life together a success.
Barnabas warned Julia she may never be safe from Angelique but he would do all to protect her. He wanted a life, home, family with Julia, and refused to let any threats stop him . Julia proceeded to tell Barnabas that Jeffrey would be available to them both to protect them if anything like the curse did happen . He would be there for both of them and any member of the Collins family. Halstead would be with them to help them for life. He was devoted to the Collins family and would protect that family from any harm just as Julia had done.
Willie Loomis proceeded per Barnabas Collins to get the Old House ready for him to bring his bride. Barnabas was making improvements to the Old House in a special way. But until the marriage, Julia was not permitted to be there under any condition for it would spoil the surprise.
The most sensitive issue between the two was involving the male female relationship. Barnabas proceeded to tell Julia, "Julia, I don't you want you to take this the wrong way, but I have a favor to ask you. I ask you to indulge me without question in this one area. Will you trust my judgment implicitly. I promise I will make you happy. After you have tried what I asked from you and feel this is not what you wanting, I will ask it of you no more. I feel you are a beautiful woman who needs to see how beautiful you are. Julia I want you to see the beautiful woman you are in the mirror yourself after I have made a few selections for you in your personal attire that affects us outside your business situation. I would like you around me to dress more subtly, soft, alluring, yet with the elegance and grace you have along with your fiery and logical disposition. I love you. You will look refined and elegant as any woman of your stature deserves my love. You know I have an extensive amount of jewelry. I want you to wear the jewelry that was my mothers, particularly her engagement ring, her diamond neckless, and earrings, and foremost her wedding dress. But I will buy you a whole new wardrobe that truly encompasses the elegant woman you are. You have always respected my elegant taste in many matters. Trust me, and allow me this indulgence I beg of you. Remember, Julia, I am a romantic passionate man, I want to be that way with you, my love, you are my life. I want to hold you in my arms gaze into your brilliant eyes, and ravish you my dear, never to let you go out of my arms. Julia , do you trust me on this I beg of you?"
Julia knew Barnabas by now he was a passionate and determined man. She knew he was doing this because he loved her and wanted to do right for them . She would indulge him on this and not question him for she loved him so she wanted to melt into his arms. She saw nothing harmful in indulging him. She might actually be pleasantly surprised. Obviously, Barnabas was very excited about doing this.
"Barnabas, I shall honor your request, I see no harm , and will work with you for I love you so. I want to be with you ,my darling. I have always cared for you and I want what is best for you, my Barnabas" smiled Julia.
His heart melted and he took her in his arms. They were in the outside gardens of Collinwood alone talking.
"Julia, this night is to be special , may I choose the dress and coordinate your selection of attire for this eve? I want you to see how beautiful you are. Barnabas went through Julia's clothing and decided that he would buy her special attire for tonight. For this night would be special for the both of them.
Barnabas told Elizabeth about his intentions toward Julia , and asked could he court Julia at the New House, and remain a visitor until they married. Elizabeth was thrilled to have him there with the family. He made special arrangement about this evening for the use of one two rooms at Collinwood where he nor Julia would be disturbed during this evening and following evening of courtship's. For dinning, he choose one of the elegant dinning rooms in the house, and a sitting pallor quite suitable for the occasion with Julia. So Elizabeth promised Barnabas that the dinning room with be filled with flowers and the table set elegantly and dinner waiting for them. The table would have a table cloth on it and be formally set for the two of them. They would have a full course meal of course accompanied with special Port or Wine. And after dinner , they would use the pallor for whatever their needs were. And of course , the elegant gardens outside ... He would take Julia outside there amongst the stars.
Barnabas had everything specially planned for Julia. He had a great amount of his mother's Julia, waiting to be presented to Julia. He was so excited.
"Barnabas , I am ready to go with you to Collinsport, are you ready to go? replied Julia.
"Yes my love, I am. We shall go there and pick out special attire for our evening here at Collinwood." replied Barnabas.
So both he and Julia went to Collinsport to spend the day together. They walked together around one of the Older Churches In Collinsport. The grounds were peaceful and they were enjoying the day together. They talked about a great many things, literature, music, art. Barnabas started the conversation around Julia. She took great interest with her brilliant mind like a child with Candy became enthused about it. He knew since she thrived on logic he would start with discussions of logic and philosophy by Aristotle, Socrates, and talked of empiricism particularly the view of John Locke and of Hume. He knew that would excite Julia. And indeed became excited. For those topics stimulated her mind and Barnabas' mind. They were able to converse and be challenged by what they had to share with each other. He like a child in turn, saw the radiance and gleam in Julia's face and could not help himself. He was saw drawn to her.
They made one slight detour in their walk and they ventured into different shops in town, and bought Julia a new dress, and coordinates to enhance her beauty. In his pocket, he held an engagement ring waiting to be given to her at the right time.
They came home and she changed into the blue torqoise dress with a low cut neckline made out of pure silk . The dress fit her body and accentuated her figure. He in turn gave her some of his mother's diamond earings and neckline he wanted to to wear with the dress. He wanted her to but her hair up and her lips to be accentuated with the right type of lip gloss, her eyes accentuated with the right amount of shadow. And the fragrance of a sweet smelling perfume. He had changed his attire to that of one of his many nice blue suit with a white shirt and a burgendy type tie. He looked absolutely handsome. His face was exurberant like a childs.
The moment had arrived Julia came down on the staircase slowly with dignity and poise. She had on Naomi's diamond necklace and earings, the perfume, the low cut torqoise dress was becoming and made her look very sensual and exotic to him. Her makeup and air were stunning. Her air was up. And She smiled and gleemed at him with such a softness. She was seductive, refined and elegant. What he had hoped for worked. She was irresistible to him. He couldn't take his eyes off her and was drawn to her beauty. She was alluring to him.
She came down the stair and at the bottom of the staircase he took her hand and kissed it. He presented her with flowers and extended his arm out to her for them to go into the formal dinning room. But before they did, he had her turn around. "Julia, look into the mirror see for yourself how beautiful you are." She looked into the mirror surprised. She was beautiful and sensual. Barnabas had been right. She turned away with sheer delight , and in Barnabas' arm proceeded to go into the dinner room with him for dinner.
The dinner went well, she slowed down, with her soft glow, her brilliant eyes, glowing at him like a loved crazed school girl. He in turn ,couldn't take his eyes off of her. He desired her there .But would wait until they were husband and wife. He was desiring that moment with her after they wed. His hormones were surging. The romantic, he was , he just told her he loved her and wanted to be with her for a lifetime.
After dinner , they proceed into the sitting palor, and continued to talk of philosophy, logic, and there future together.
He took her from the palor into the gardens, took her in his arms, kissed her gently. She gazing into his arms. Then he knelt down on his knees, "Julia, my love , my life will you do me the honor of marrying me?"replied Barnabas
"Yes, I love you Barnabas, I want to spend my life with you." she replied.
He took his mother's diamond engagement ring from his pocket and slipped on her finger. They would be wed on the morrow in Collinsport at a small ceremony at the church in the prescence of the immediate family,God , and the minister.
The day was clear and blue. The sky was one transformed to one of perfection. Julia and Barnabas awoke, took their breakfast together in the dining room. He always extended his arm out to her wherever they walked. Once he saw her, he rarely let her out of his site. They had spent the next part of the day discussing the various usual things for them now philosophy and the classics. Barnabas knew how brilliant Julia was and her simple interpretation of complex writings enthralled him. For Julia's mind was a gift to the world, Second in her class at Cornell, she was had one of the most brilliant minds he had seen his lifetime. She was actually a genius in the midst of Collinwood. Barnabas was so excited to see her analyze and interpret the philosophers of different generations- she had uncanny insight that intrigued him. Of course, he enjoyed his discussions of such things with her. It brought life into Julia to have Barnabas by her side. She loved him so anyway, this just made her feel complete with him. And the way she glowed , was shown to him. His attraction and love for her ever so more.
After their discourse of conversation, they walked the grounds of Collinwood, and really took a look at the scenery and the beautiful structures Collinwood housed, as if it were for the very first time they had seen it. For both of them together, life had a new meaning for them both . A journey and just a beginning of their union together. Herein the the midst of day among the splendor of Collinwood, their spirits were one.
They shortly separated and prepared for their wedding.
Julia was ready early and departed to the church quite happy and nervous. And she thought she had left early enough to be the only one at church before the wedding ceremony.
She looked at the beauty of the rustic church and walked inside to the sanctuary. She knelt on her knees before her Maker in humility before Him and cried with tears in her eyes and prayers of thanks and appreciation for life . Little known to her , Barnabas had followed her to the church. He had been so protective and enamored with her, he guarded her so carefully that nothing would interfere with them being married , nothing.
He found Julia in the sanctuary crying and be became frantic. He went to her saying , "Julia ,my love what is wrong with you, I heard you crying alone by yourself here. I can not stand your pain. I had to come to you."
"Oh Barnabas, I didn't mean for anyone to see me here. Nothing is wrong dear, I was just thanking God for my life." replied Julia.
"I don't understand, Julia."
"Barnabas, I am thanking God for the life I now have that I thought it was only a dream. I have you, Barnabas whom I love, and I appreciate, Before I was merely existing. But now I am living and have an appreciation for life."
With hearing that Barnabas knelt on his knees along with Julia by his side in thanks to his Maker in awe and humility.
Both Julia and Barnabas realized they were very lucky people. Barnabas who had died , his life had been restored to him and he had a new chance of happiness with Julia. And Julia, who merely existed in the daily world of life saw the new horizons of life transcended. Both their souls had been reborn.
A DREAM IS LIFE ITSELF
