I Thee Wed

The day had been clear and blue. The warmth of the sun seemed to act as a blanket against the softness of the church. Still, and quiet the only sounds one could hear where the twirping of the birds and the sound of the church bells. Hearing the sounds of the church Bells with a view of the church and grounds gave Julia and Barnabas a sense of peace and a calm mood for setting of their wedding. The ceremony was simple, only the immediate family was there along with Professor Stokes, Willie, and Dr. Halstead being the only non family members there . And soon if all went well Dr. Halstead would be a member of the family too.

Julia, had no time for herself. She sometimes got frustrated with Barnbas because he was hovering her too protectively in her mind. But then again, she thought she better adapt to it. That was the way Barnabas was when he loved someone was like that. So Julia wanted to surprise Barnabas with a few wedding gifts found a way around that and dealt with Barnabas' protectiveness.

She approached Roger , with Barnabas behind her of course at the church and asked for pen, paper , and envelope. She wrote what she needed on a piece of paper and handed it to Roger. "Roger , please take this take note to Elizabeth and please help her in what I have written. Its very important. I would take care of this myself, but for certain reasons , I am unable to your cousin Barnabas is an factor here," laughed Julia.

"Certainly, I understand, Julia. Roger opened the note and read it and smiled. Julia, be assured this will be taken care of immediately."

Barnabas had the advantage of Willie carrying out his instructions , so Julia would not be aware of the surprises he was making for her. But then again, Julia was logical, adaptable , and loved Barnabas Collins to ends of the earth. She would simply write letters and give her friends instructions for whatever she needed, so Barnabas' surprise would not be disclosed.

Time came for the ceremony, Julia in Naomi's dress satin with a long veil, glowed as no other bride Barnabas had ever seen. For Julia was his future and now would join him in the union of marriage. She wore long dangling diamond earings and a terraced styled diamond necklace that made Julia look seductive yet elegant.

Barnabas handsome in his tuxedo, turned toward Julia with much happiness.

Dr. Halstead and Elizabeth were happy and holding hands in joy.

Roger, David and the rest of the guests were jubilant for the bride and groom on this day.

And Julia, who had always loved Barnabas , was in awe, as though she had just woken up from a dream. This was real and it was true. She was with the man she loved and always would love beyond eternity.

So Barnabas and Julia stood before their guests, minister and God, exchanged their wedding , vows, and became husband and wife.

Barnabas said happy an proud, "Julia, with thee ring I do thee wed," and put what was his mothers diamond wedding ring on Julia's finger.

Upon the proclaimation from the minister, "I now pronounce you Barnabas and Julia Collins to be joined together until death so you part, as husband and wife. Mr. Collins you may now kiss the bride."

Barnabas turned at his wife with his love for her and kissed and held her gently in his arms. He smelled the scent of Julia's perfume, and looked at her. He ached with desire for her.

"Julia, I will love you as no man has ever loved you or will ever love you again, you are my love, my life, my heart. You are a part of my soul, my destiny and what I have been waiting for all my life. I will take care of you , love, protect and honor you, my love. No man will ever love you more than I, my beloved Julia. Thou art my soul, my life, please never leave me you are so precious to me my dear. I love you. I love you beyond the heavens, the earth, the stars, and the moon, and from beyond eternity,"I will make you happier than any other man, Julia, my love, my reason for existing, " replied Barnabas.

Julia turned to Barnabas, "Barnabas, I will always love you for eternity and beyond. I will never leave your side, and will be by you always my love. You are my hopes, aspirations, dreams, present and future Barnabas. I shall do anything in my power to make you happy, anything I will always be by your side, my love."

With those words the happy couple left the church for Collinwood where Elizabeth was holding a small reception fo the two of them.

They arrived at Collinwood and the reception was modest but held in the outside gardens with flowers all around. Elilzabeth had a table with punch, wedding cake, fruit, and assorted vegetables. Simple but quite pretty.
