Moved by the glow in Julia's face, Barnabas wanted his bride to partake the finalization of what he hoped would be a happy homecoming for her. He had made certain changes to the house, upstairs that the new Mrs. Collins had not seen, for he hoped she would like them. In his heart, he knew, that Julia had stood by him and had been his conscience, and without her encouragement, that neither of them, would have changed so for the better, she more passionate and human, him a soul reborn reunited with humanity. Again , he reflected back to him past existence and he thought about the difference between one like Angelique and Julia Hoffman, and what an existence would be like with either of them.Angelique, emotionally, lacking a conscience and the abilility to protect the Collins, would have made a poor choice for his wife. For in the end, Barnabas had become a patriarch to the Collins family and was oriented toward a home and family life. Julia, self sacraficing and totally devoted to him, adapted well to the Collins familly and championed protecting them as well as Barnabas. Those at Collinwood respected and thought her to be loyal to them and quite intelligent. Julia, was often sought for by the Collins for their advise, had resided at Collinwood for four years, and was truly concerned with the welfare of those at Collinwood. She cared for their them, and had on many occasions sacraficed her life to protect them. Angelique on the other hand, had not been loved as Julia had by those at Collinwood in the different time periods, as well as the current one of 1971. And that in the end, would have caused undue agony for Barnabas. For he loved the Collins name, heritage, family. There was no better woman than Julia than to perpetuate such virtues of hers to extol. Besides, under her tough exterior, from her passion in her eyes, underneath there was an equally undying passion inside of her waiting to be discovered in intimacy. Who better than Barnabas than to bring that out in her, as a woman, and now as his wife. He loved her.
Willie had gone, and they had finished dinner. Julia loved lovely to Barnabas. As promised he , he had dressed her for that evening meal , completely. A low cut green cocktail dress that was shoulderless with emerald diamond pendant earings.
Anyway, swept by Julia's sensuality . He carried her upstairs. There , he showed her the various surprises that awaited her new life with him.
He took Julia to Josette's room, the portrait of Josette was gone. Josette's mirror, hairbrush, and other items of such were gone.
"Julia, I wanted you to understand I love you, and I have put Josette in the past . Our bridal suite shall not be here but rather one of the restored rooms. I love you, Julia, you are my soul. My destiny is intertwined with you, my dear."
He then proceeded to take Julia to another room upstairs, he had a room made into an upstairs library full of different types of books, mostly of them medical books. Limitless amounts of medical books, whom Dr. Halstead had picked out that any doctor happy with. Barnabas, wanted to encourage his wife's love of medicine. Also, there were other books of philosophy, history, arts, literature, religion, and music.
Tears came from Julia's eyes. She was speechless. For truly the library was beautiful. The bookcases were fashioned out of an elegant maple wood, that were ornate, and elaborate.
Finally, Barnabas took Julia to their bridal suite. It was ornate, with an elegant fireplace, And the view from the room one could see the ocean. And as Barnabas, promised, the closets were full of a new wardrobe for Julia, totally ranging from dresses, lingerie, pants. Not only was the wardrobe limited to that room. But Barnabas escorted Julia to adjacent rooms, where there were closets full of new clothes for her hand selected for her. A small indulgence for Barnabas to make him happy and to make her sensual to him. The clothes were beautiful, and he had shown her at Collinwood, just how pretty she looked in those clothes.
He escorted her back to their bridal suite. He had special perfumes, and a brush and comb set for her set up at a small sitting table. It was there, he carried his wife into their room. Told her he loved her, started to brush her hair.
Once Barnabas, brushed her hair himself, an insatiable urge for his wife overcame him. And unable to resist Julia, he took her into his arms, put her down on the bed, and culminated his undesiring love for her into the passion of the night.
On the morn, the happy couple, sleepy eyed walked together and saw from a special room above the sun rising in the morning. Barnabas, kissed his wife, took a poem he had written for her, and recited to her as he was gazing toward the sunrise:
Never Without You from Barnabas to his wife Julia
