Nicole had a vision of her kidnapping. The feeling was so painful she wanted to suppress and ignore it. However, the vision continued and what she saw horrified her. She was at her grandfather's house, In Boston being watched by the housekeeper. Dr. Carl Hoffman was busy reading some of his medical journals. The child was outside being watched by the housekeeper, Mrs. Jackson. However, Mrs. Jackson was rather preoccupied in her household duties, not really watching Nicole. Nicholas Blair watching the child from Hades saw his opportunity to kidnap her. He appeared before the child, grabbed her, blindfolded, and took her back to the confines of what appeared to be a cottage in the remote parts of Collinsport. With a big grin and a sense of satisfaction of his success, Nicholas Blair celebrated his victory not knowing there is something to stop his plans. In the meantime, Julia had stopped by to pick up the child at her fathers, and noticed the child was gone. Julia immediately called the authorities and from there the child was declared missing and never seen again by her parents.
The effect from this on the Woodard's marriage was disastrous. The Woodards having little in common became more distant. Dave loved his daughter but was of little emotional support for his wife Julia. Julia at this point basically changed and shut off the rest of the world except for the world of medicine. Two years later the legal authorities still declared Nicole missing. Julia heartbroken, left Boston, divorced Woodard and began a new life at Wyncliffe. Carl Hoffman in return disinherited Julia .
It had come to pass that in 1960, that Nicole had been found in the woods of Collinsport and from that time on was in various foster homes.
