The winds of the jagged edges are filled with sorrow
laden with tears . Here, in the midst of the beginning storm, Nicole walked
back to the Old House. Therein, she saw her father. Barnabas and Julia had been
loathing this time of Nicole's discovery and her reaction to it. But Nicole
only felt guilt herself for this situation, and knelt down on her knees and
cried. She felt the pain of both of her parents. Nicole loved them deeply. She
felt intense anger toward Nicholas Blair and Angelique. Nicole, like her mother,
was protective of Barnabas. Nicole knew of no other way to act she was that
devoted to him. The child was both an emotional and impassioned creature very
similar to Barnabas, maybe a drawback for her in the long run. Nevertheless,
she stood behind Barnabas and understood his suffering. She sided wrong or right
with her parents to whom she clung. Nicole thought Nicholas Blair had found
a weak spot in her was the cause of this vision. Nicole will not turn toward
the dark forces of Blair, she thought, Barnabas was a different creature then
and Julia saw something good in him. Her mother had stood by him then and that
was all she needed to know. She felt that if Woodard had not threatened to expose
Barnabas perhaps his life would have been saved, but she was not sure. Julia
had been the only one to come to a scared Barnabas, try to help him. What would
life had been for Barnabas and Julia if they never met? Two lonely misguided
souls in limbo? Barnabas was very good for Julia and Julia had been good for
Barnabas. They complemented each other so well, and Nicole saw it was quite
often easy to become withdrawn from the world. Barnabas had transformed Julia
and brought her soft side back, and brought back joy to Julia's life. Nicole
knew she needed to learn from her mother about courage. She would need to get
even closer to her. Nicole , on her knees wept, turned to Barnabas and begged
for her to forgive her. Nicole now viewed the world of medicine differently
and began to change her mind about being a doctor... Nicole started too see
the important of saving human lives and how that indeed did make a difference
in life. Julia had cured Barnabas from his curse from the beast he had been
as a vampire. Now it was time to pursue her medical studies more seriously.
A letter had been in the mail in the last few days, she had been accepted to
Harvard for her premedical studies.....
