Barnabas and Julia came in from their afternoon walk outside. The day had been clear an beautiful. They were actually quite excited. Barnabas came in the house holding his wife''s hand a gave her a small kiss. Both of them were quite excited, "I can't believe Nicole is getting married, something is upsetting Nicole, Julia, she just looks at me so sullen. I have heard he screaming into the night, and when I come up to talk to her she becomes quiet. She appears to be tormented, Julia, can you talk to her and find out what is bothering her." While the Collins were happy Nicole was going to be married, Nicole displayed some signs of melancholy.

Nicole had a tendency to become quiet and withdrawn, even angry at the mere mention of her sadness. In fact, Nicole has become more sullen, stoic, like before Julia had met Barnabas Collins. Nicole had picked up this behavior while she studied medicine at Harvard, Not until they visited her in Boston did they notice the difference. Barnabas insisted Nicole come home and finish her residency at Collinsport. Julia continued to take walks with Nicole trying to pry information from her but to no avail. Finally during on of these walks , Nicole had divulged to Julia, "Well, Mother if you want to know I have contained my feelings for several reasons. First and foremost, I was afraid of you and Father would be disappointed in me. I can never measure up to the wonderful mother and woman you are. I also envy you and Father, the way you are so devoted to each other and in love, I will never attain that dealing with a crisis or the supernatural, I won't know what to do. I wanted to become a doctor to please you Mother but I hated the time in Boston away from the family. So I continued school and buried myself in my work as a doctor. My true destiny is here in Collinwood, nowhere else. Never, never will I leave," sobbed Nicole. It was shortly after that conversation that Nicole had begun to be more of herself, and music filled with house as well as a soft smile on occasion.

Meanwhile, during the last few years one Charles William Collins had taken up residence at Collinsport, as a doctor working with Julia at Wyndcliff. Charles was a very very distant cousin of Isaac Collins whom founded Collinsport in the 1600's. Lonely and sullen he had no immediate family left since his grandfather died. Charles was a handsome young man six feet in height with dark brown eyes and hair. He was so handsome he almost looked like a Greek God. he found the family in Collinsport and wrote directly to Barnabas. Barnabas remembered the mention many years ago when the oracle was foretold. As soon as Charles arrived in Collinsport, Barnabas felt a special fondness for Charles and invited him to reside at the Old House. Time passed and when Nicole cam home the two of them fell instantly in love with each other. Charles loved her so he immediately proposed marriage and she accepted.

Barnabas entered the drawing room of the Old House sullen one day. "Julia, my dear, I have a favor to ask you."

"What my love"? replied Julia.

"I should have never allowed Nicole to go to Boston. I am fearful upon her marriage that she will leave Collinsport and us, I can't bare the thought of it Julia, please stop her."

"This is her home, she is a Collins and she belongs where the rest of the Collins family. Nicole's destiny and happiness is here with us. Julia, please don't let Nicole leave.....do anything you can to keep her here..." sobbed Barnabas
