Barnabas had asked Julia to find out what was bothering Nicole. Nicole, was not the total angel she appeared to be. While at Harvard, like many young people, she had gone through many stages showing defiance and rebellion for many things. One of the reasons, she had been sad was that she knew if her father had known about some of the things she had done, Barnabas would be furious to say the least and Julia would be treating him for high blood pressure!
Nicole, as soon as she had entered Harvard of course
mingled with many of the students who considered themselves from the best families
in Boston. So Nicole went to parties, took up with different young men, mostly
breaking their hearts in love. Nicole was a true beauty. She at the prompting
of her grandfather took up yachting. She also took up flying, which turned out
to be her greatest love. Not only did she fly for sport, but also few her friends
on trips to variuos destinations. She was also known to o stunts with her airplane,
some of it quite risky. Furthermore, shen she became a doctor she often fly
on missions to save people's lives. She became known as the "flying doctor",
among her peers. During her time at Harvard her grandfather had died leaving
his entire estate and home worth in the millions to Nicole solely. She also
inherited a great deal of money from her father Woodard's parents. In addition,
Barnabas and Julia had set a good sum of money aside for her during the years.
So, this Nicole Collins became the weathiest of all the Collins . Her wealth
surpassed that of Barnabas,Julia or Roger combined. She indulged in the good
life by having a fleet of planes at different destinations, yachts, summer homes,
and several stables of horses. And so, it was very common for Nicole when she
wanted to go somewhere to fly one of her many planes to wherever she wanted
to go. Of course , she never shared this information with her parents that she
had become part of the jet set. butthe one thing she worried about mostly that
she hated practicing medicine unless she could sometimes fly and treat people.
She missed flying so, but the way she was so carefree and wreckless sometimes
flying, she never revealed this to her parents. To her even the mention of her
flying small planes herself directly to wherever she wanted, wouldn't sit well
wih Barnabas. She thought for right now this best left alone. But upon her return
to Collinsport, she desperately wanted to fly. Other things also saddened her,
she missed studying the occult with Stokes, music, and the humanities...She
couldn't contain herself, father or no father, she was going to fly again......
