Barnabas had pulled away his daughter from a fiery
Nicholas Blair , who was very angry at this point with the Collins girl, Nicole.
Julia and Barnabas both made sure there was ample distance between Blair and
Nicole so that no immediate horror would take place with their anger so paramount.
Julia looked up Blair, herself calmly, stating, "Blair, Nicole has been tormented
so for a long time, no further harm better come to her, for if any does I shall
hold you personally accountable. RIght now she has much healing to do from her
accident and is in need of her parental influence and direction." Julia was
logical about this, she hoped it would give Blair the impression that Nicole
had been through much and needed time to heal. What Julia was trying to do here
is to prevent any further tragedies from happening. She thought by her statements
this may avert a crisis or a new chain of terrors for often more terror follows
another . Julia only knew too well when one strikes out another one attacks
and the vicious cycle goes on. This is what she wanted to avoid if possible.
At least for for the time being and after Nicole, Barnabas or Julia had time
for anger to subside and think out the logical conclusion to this situation.
Julia didn't mean to infer to her daughter that she do nothing to protect herself
from from the truth. Julia knew Nicole
had a significant advantage over Blair due to the fact that she had the support
and wisdow of Julia and Barnabas' experience and strong thinking minds. After
all they had been through some many instances with Angelique and Blair, they
had knowledge to impart and a way to protect their family. Barnabas' family
was now in a strong position to protect itself. The one thing that Julia did
was to ask Carolyn to take the boys to Boston for awhile under this danger subsided.
Now the Collins were ready to deal with Blair.
Now all of them were back at the Old House in the drawing room. Barnabas was adamant and reassured Nicole that no further harm will come to her. He wanted Nicole to understand she was safe now in the house with her parents. They wanted her to feel safe and protected and let them do whatever was necessary at this point to protect her. "Nicole , if Blair harms you in any way further I will destroy him myself. He will not destroy you nor Julia, nor our lives together. And if you will him out of your mind and that of Woodard coming and haunting you that too shall pass. Think hard Nicole and vanish any thoughts of Dr. Woodard coming back from the dead, for that is really your enemy. If you do that, then you will be at peace my daughter. You are strong enough Nicole . Use your powers of the supernatural to banish Woodard from appearing. If he does appear, and is above you . I want you to come to either Mother or I about it. Do you understand?"
"Don't let your mind be in a weak state to allow this to happen.," replied Barnabas. Don't let Blair get the better of you my daughter. This is the way to get even with evil is be successful, protect yourself, and continue as you have been in your life here at Collinwood. You have a marriage to attend to my child, for Charles is waiting to wed you. In fact with your mother's permission, I think Charles has been patient enough I think we should proceed with the wedding now if this is agreeable with your mother."
Nicole was indeed happy about what Barnabas had said. "Father I will make a bargain with you . Right now no further action will be taken against Blair unless he causes it first, does that seem fair? And if so, the measures shall only be defensive protection . At that I shall say no more . I shall know if any action is warranted if Angelique makes her appearance around Collinwood, then I will know what to do."
Julia and Barnabas reluctantly agreed to this but accepted what Nicole had said to them.
As before, all made preparations for the wedding.
In the dark shadows of Collinwood meanwhile a woman with blond hair and blue eyes made her appearance before that one Nicholas Blair at the new house.
