June 1971

The girl is about twelve or so young and frightened. In her quest to find her true identity, Nicole pushes herself to read through the old dusty archives out of the Collinwood Library. In and out of foster homes since she was three, she has found her way back back into what she sees as the last of her foster homes. In the meantime, she has made her acquaintance with Elizabeth Collins Stoddard. Collinsport authorities have decided have decided to put Nicole in a more stable enviroment. Elizabeth has taken rather a fancy to Nicole. They made their acquaintace to each other at the Collinwood library when Nicole was researching for her identity. Sad and lonely looking somehow Elizabeth took pity upon her and from there is history. But the girl was a spirit in limbo, and desired to inquire about making this young girl the newest member at Collinwood. Elizabeth could not explain it but she felt that Nicole was predestined by history to reside at Collinwood. Nicole was a beautiful girl with a creamy white complexion with large brilliant eyes and black hair. Her spirit waas that of a passionate soul that manifested itself through Nicole's eyes. One would have only have to look into those big dark eyes to see that creature of passion. Her spirit was alive as a brilliant fire.

The wind blew had and the rain was of fierce magnitude. The thunder blaring with all surrounded by the roar of the ocean. The evening was dark, cold, and lonely. It was on this night that Barnabas and Julia Collins paid a visit to Collinwood to pay a social visit on their Collin cousin. It was on this evening, that Mr. & Mrs. Barnabas Collins were introduced to a big brown eyed child in the drawing room of the new house. The Collins had never met this new ward of Mrs. Stoddard and they were quite smitten by Nicole's smile, passion and coyness. Barnabas, being quite observant about the child's physical features, actually was in a state of shock. To his disbelief, he was amazed how much the child looked. Outside the child's hair she resembled his wife Julia. Nicole had her big brown eyes, her jaw, and facial features, the same face. No, it was impossible, this was just a coincidence? However, during the course of conversation, once Barnabas found out this child had no identity, had been found in the woods of Collinsport, the authorities were never to match the child with her parents. In fact, at that point, although Barnabas had an intense curiousity, Julia's face immediately became horrified. Bursting out of the room in tears almost in panc in fact, Barnabas ran after his confused wife. His wife usually calm and collected, on this night projected fright and sorrow from some past tragedy. David, Roger, Elizabeth, and Carolyn of course were confused, but Nicole in seeing the pain on Julia's face rushed to her aid. Nicole felt a natural instinct to do so, to absolve any pain Julia may have at any costs. At the same time, she also felt an agony and internal rage inside herself. Compelled to go to Julia without thinking; confronting Julia's gazing into Julia's tearful eyes.

Barnabas of couse was holding his tearful wife at this point staring at Nicole and Julia and Julia quite confused. He knew the two had some relationship to each other. Julia thinking in her mind , "No, No this can't be, she died, that chapter of my life is gone." But yet Julia felt a natural bond to Nicole she couldn't ignore any of her instincts either. One thing about the Collins family, there always seemed to be a never ending of dark deep secrets. One could almost say it was a trait of the Collins heritage.
