The Old House- The Time of Resurrection
The winds crashed at Collinwood. The largest sound of thunder ever known to the existence at the Old House. Almost sounded like the beginnings of a war. But was it? or were the spirits hovering over the great estate at Collinwood? Does one really know? What evil spirits were lurking in the dark?
Meanwhile, inside the Old House, while Nicole lay dying , Barnabas and Julia were called in by Dr. Jeffrey Halstead with an earth shattering revelation.
"I am sorry to have to take you away from Nicole. And believe me, I am so sorry for what has happened to her . She is a good sweet child.... I remember her when she was born."
"What do you mean?" sobbed Julia.
"Julia , you trust me , don't you. We don't have much time here with Nicole. I will explain in a bit. We have to try to save her first then I will explain everything. In fact , if you can , I think Charles needs to be here too. Nicole is dying and doesn't have that much longer. I want to save her if we can. "
Halstead called over to Charles to come into the other room also. Charles reluctantly left his wife's side.
"Charles Collins, do you know who I am? replied Halstead.
"Yes , I know who you are now.", he sobbed.
"Did you know my true identity before this evening"? replied Halstead.
"No, Dr. Halstead I did not know who you were till just now . I am able to know who you are. But Nicole knew of you , I have that premonition. Is that right?"
"Yes," your wife did know who I was and has known only for a short time herself. She did not know who I was until she had a particular vision of who I was. That is why she came to talk to me. I want you to understand that. She loves you very much, my son, and she loves Julia and Barnabas, more than life itself. We don't have much time. Charles, but she told me you have supernatural powers. My son , you must use these powers through your love for her and your unborn child to save both of them. Otherwise , they both will die. It was not your wife's time to die Charles and that is why you need to summon her life back before she dies. Otherwise, she and your son will be dead forever. Collinwood will suffer a terrible fate if she dies and the child dies. And to save you , dear Charles from your future fate , you need your wife and your son. And you always must protect Barnabas and Julia. For they are the key to your future also. WIthout them , you are lost my son , remember these words. We must go now to your wife,"
"I can't do this. I am not suppose to rise the dead." replied Charles.
"Barnabas,Julia , I implore you to trust me. I have never guided you falsely, JULIA TO SAVE YOUR DAUGHTER. CONVINCE CHARLES TO SUMMON HER TO WELLNESS, so she won't lose the baby.", replied Jeffrey.
Barnabas nodded to his wife to follow Halstead's advise .and Julia ,distraught over her only daughter, still questioned Halstead.
"Julia, we don't have time for your questions, this is not the time for that. The baby's life is at stake. Nicole is pregnant with your grandchild. Both must be saved and resurrected. This is their destiny decreed by "The Oracle".
Julia and Barnabas dumbfounded, now knew Halstead was part of Nicole's Oracle she had talked about where The Collins were predestined to greatness and were protected by descendants of Julia and Barnabas. Only the immediate family knew this. And now Halstead did too. It was apparent to Julia and Barnabas that Halstead was also a part of Nicole and Charles past and future.
Barnabas turned to his son in law and commanded him to do Dr. Halstead's bidding. Julia was still depressed and in a state of shock over Nicole.
"Charles, do what Dr. Halstead wants I will give you no choice in this. I regret renouncing the supernatural powers Nicole gave me, but you, my boy must call unto her with all your love to save the baby and Nicole, You have no choice. Do you understand?" replied Barnabas.
Charles obediently listened to Barnabas and proceeded to go to Nicole's bedside:
"I summon the powers of the heavens and goodness and of the love I have my wife and child to bring them back to me. I implore Nicole to hear your husband and obey me. Come back to me my love, come back."
Upon hearing those words , from Charles, the dying Nicole, was resurrected she went from dying to full conscienceness. Nicole looked lovingly into her husband's eyes.
"Charles , I love you my darling, I could never leave you for anything, I was trying to protect you, mother and father. I coudn't stand to be tortured any more by Woodard's ghost . It was unbearable. Will you forgive me my darling, I love you so? She kissed her husband gently on the lips. He joyful, knelt down and cried.
"Mother, oh mother , where are you.?" Julia rushed over Nicole and clung onto her daughter that she didn't want to ever let her go. She wanted to protect her daughter from the agony of pain and death. And now Julia realized that she was going to a grandmother, and it would be a boy. And that Barnabas would be a grandfather. All of them must protect the children.
Julia and Barnabas still remembered Nicole as the little thirteen year old girl who was reunited with them and babbled all about literature, poetry, philosphy of life. To them Nicole, would always will that shadow of that cute little girl who was bright eyed when she saw Barnabas read his literary books, and how much Julia gazed at her husband back then. It was hard for them to admit Nicole , that little girl they knew back then, was now going to be a mother herself. For to them, Nicole would always be their little sweet girl.
With the return of Nicole's spirit, the winds of Collinwood and at the Old House had become calm for the moment....
