The words Dr. Haltstead had communicated to Barnabas and Julia were simple. And those words impacted Barnabas greatly at this point. He was in fact becoming exciting about the fact of his future grandson, and being to recite various stories to him in front of the fireplace with the little boy's deep dark eyes so intent on the story content , and from there asking questions. Sometimes simplicity eradicated barriers to problems.
Father Barnabas and daughter Nicole would be having one of their famous conversations very soon." No, thought Barnabas , not this time."
One of the problems was Barnabas and Julia loved Nicole too much to perhaps solve this problem with Nicole. Nicole was different , and to get her to understand something one who have to appeal to her passion for the subject. How simple, thought Barnabas. Maybe this approach , may impact their daughter and sway her heart. And Barnabas thought, while he was appealing to Nicole's passion , he might as well set this example to the other children too.
The children including Nicole ,knew Barnabas adored his wife, always ranting poetry to her and expressing his love to her. What Nicole was blind to at the moment was when there were problems , it was also important to just as expressive, and important to remember love in a marriage , was not merely words , but also accompanied by actions of both husband and wife.
Barnabas, without telling Julia, called the whole family, Julia, his sons who were now 14, Justin and Zachary, and Nicole and Charles to have a normal family gathering by the fireside in the drawing room. The family , quite comfortable, eagerly awaited's Barnabas' usual narration of some story or event . Due to the problems with Woodards' ghost, this type family gathering had been neglected. Not any more , Barnabas thought.
"I want to share with you a poem I wrote to your mother when we got married to express the love I feel for her and the importance of being one in love and marriage for an eternity,"
Barnabas looked toward Julia;
Never Without You from Barnabas to his wife Julia
"Never Without you I pray to tell
Never Without you do I see the sky
Never without you I extol the moon
And yonder of realm of all heaven
Of days in our eternity gone by.
Within my destiny does life behold

Wisdom in your heart

Barnabas then turned to his wife, Julia, "Julia, I love you my darling forever you are in my heart, nothing alters my love for you."
He then held her in his arms , and kissed her in front of the family.
