The concert at Collinwood had been a huge success. Collinwood started to go through a change culturally that hadn't ever been present. As promised, Seaview was transformed into a cultural enter of learning, but limited to the immediate Collins family, namely that first to Barnabas' family.

Nicole had to convince her father that this indeed was a good move for Collinwood, and a non threatening one at the same time. For what the consequences would be of such a change, would cause a change in Nicole's life. She had devoted herself to medicine at Wyndcliffe as a doctor was resigned to the fact, that indeed was not her true calling in life. In she indeed, have a calling it would be focused on the humanities.

Once again, Nicole and Julia found themselves in debate about continuance of her maintaining her profession as a doctor. Nicole, excited from the humanities, even though she loved medicine, wanted to pursue that avenue in career rather than that of a doctor, especially at Wyndcliffe, which was not close to Collinwood by any means, Charles refused to get involved in this debate. For Charles supported his wife's decision, and Barnabas stood behind Julia, so this debate went on. Barnabas and Julia found themselves in dilemma over this issue because in truth, they saw from the concert and recent events at Collinwood that Nicole's happiness lay toward the humanities, she was truly gifted and displayed more of an exuberance over the humanities, than medicine.

Barnabas and Julia had more of larger one in nature, letting go of Nicole and allowing her to be an adult and to live her own life. Barnabas actually had difficulty in letting go, but Julia always supported Barnabas' desires, it was rare they were in disagreement about such, would discuss it and come to some conclusion on how to handle it. Both were that close to each other, they still were soulmates for life. And shared everything. Decisions, trouble, strife, nothing had changed. They went through life, not as separates, but together. The real reason that Julia wanted Nicole to be a doctor, was to protect Barnabas, and the family if anything happened to them. Otherwise, Julia was well prepared to let her daughter go into any career she wanted. But the Collins family, was indeed an exception, and Julia was so devoted and loved her husband so much, she wanted to do anything for him she could to help him, even is she weren't around. She loved him that much. It was well understood in the family that medicine would be emphasized as a course of action for all the children, not just Nicole for the same reason. Julia, had no trouble either, in explaining the importance of this to her children. She wanted to impart to them that medicine, as well as knowledge of the supernatural were paramount to protect their father. It was that simple. If a voice from any of the Collins children were raised in that regard, Julia would be would appeal to her sense of love for Barnabas to do so, since he had suffered so much as a vampire. She wanted to protect and keep Barnabas safe as she always had. Barnabas stood behind his wife's decision in this regard, for he understood Julia's intention.

Julia had already discussed this with her sons, who concurred. They would get medical degrees, but also be allowed to pursue other avocations, as long as they kept their medical knowledge avail to help their father. Justin wanted to become a professor like Elliot in the Humanities, and Zachary wanted to become an architect. But both boys promised Julia, they would become doctors first, and then pursue their other career interests upon the attainment of their medical degrees. Both would somehow manage both type of careers, part time as a doctor and then in the career of their choice. Their medical knowledge needed to be kept current. If Barnabas' curse returned, it could be a disaster for the whole family.

Julia's diary and the experiments were never discussed with anyone. That had been quite private. Julia felt Barnabas had suffered enough. She wanted his self respect to be maintained, and thought disclosure was not necessary until the experiments needed to be repeated. None of the children needed to know about this, except at her demise. Julia was devoted to Barnabas totally.

Julia's devotion toward Barnabas showed by her actions toward her husband, She clung to him. He was her life. When she looked into his eyes, she saw the man she loved and was proud of. She would elevate him, and made the children respect him out of her sense of love.

The way Julia gazed at her husband, as a woman who was in love with her husband, was well understood in the household. A sense of caring and love for Barnabas never waned from Julia's heart. Barnabas Collins knew it to be so. He had always admired Julia's virtues, courage, without hate, wisdom, love, devotion and loved her so.

Love for another, was a motivation to act a certain way. Julia, who loved Barnabas, decided upon Nicole's possible decision to give up medicine, to discuss this Barnabas also present.

Julia, long ago, had dramatically reduced her hours at Wyndcliffe, when she married Barnabas. It was an easy choice for her, but she never parted on herself with her interest in medicine so enough to protect her husband. And they had both been happy with that decision, and had a rich full life together as a married couple. They viewed maintaining an enriched priority rather than careers. The priorities became reading, taking walks, romanticism, enjoying poetry, literature, art, music, philosophy, the classics; narrative story telling, writing, occult, medicine, gardening, sailing, .and the family which they shared together.Barnabas wanted to share life with the woman he loved so.
