Night had fallen and all were asleep in the Old House. The day prior, Dr. Halstead had approached Barnabas about his son Peter. Nicole and Charles had sometimes tutored their own brothers in various subjects and in the humanities, and he wanted his son who was now ten years old to also be exposed to those subjects including the occults, and humanities. For he thought, that Nicole was quite passionate about her subjects and knowledgeable. Thus, she would impart much to his son. What Halstead was saying is he wanted his son Peter to be as knowledgeable as the other Collins children so, he too would be enlightened educationally, aware of the occult, and able to not fear to combat them. And along with the rest of the Collins, would be able to protect the family in the future. Nicole had resigned her position at Wyndcliffe, and Barnabas could give no answer to Dr. Halstead in this regard. Both he and Julia were devested by Nicole's actions. For they also suspected that Charles would resign his position also, to be near his wife.

"Barnabas , I hope you have no forgotten, that the children will fulfill the prophecy in the Oracle, never forget that, despite all outward appearances," replied Jeffrey.

"I am sorry to hear of Nicole's resignation from Wyndcliffe, she obviously wants to near the baby, which is understandable. But don't let her lose her knowledge of medicine, Never."

Barnabas was perplexed about all the recent changes at the Collins Household. Barnabas was more confused, a letter offering Nicole had been offered a position in Boston that her grandfather once held at the hospital in position as head of medicine.

He and Julia were nervous about Nicole and Charles leaving for Boston. The position was one of great honor.

The house was still during the night and Barnabas was in a deep slumber next to his wife. During the course of the evening he fell into a deep state of sleep. His deep slumber intensified, and he began to have dream one with a revealing message to him. Dr. Halstead's word's ,"The answer will come to you, Barnabas about the course of action to take with your family will be answered, I promise you," rang over and over in Barnabas' dream. The dream then began, "Barnabas his without Julia or his family, all were gone from him. All that remained was of him, in the Old House by himself. Where was Julia , he thought? For in this dream, Julia was no where near him. What would his life be without his Julia was now to be answered to him in the dream. His life without his wife was cold and lonely. He looked around him, all those in his life gone, including Julia. For so long he had her and now she was no where to be found. Glimpses of the past preceded toward him, Julia had always stood by his side. He now looked into the past and saw her face, she saved him from destruction so often, and there she had saved him from Angelique,Blair, Adam,Petrofi,Woodard, Gerald Stiles to the best of her ability. She had stopped him from killing people unnecessarily as a vampire and served as a conscience for him to develop his soul. She was devoted to him, there for him always, always by his side whenever he called for her, Julia in best times and bad times, was lovingly beside her Barnabas. She helped helped him though his loss of all his loved ones in his life, and had found lastly a cure for his infliction. That woman fiery woman who glazed lovingly into Barnabas Collins was gone. All those times in the dream he saw her face vividly, with him throught trials and tribulations in life, and then her face was no more. He cried to her help, but there was no one to answer him. Over and over Barnabas cried, "Julia, I need you, I need you, come to me , come to me." This times his prayers were not answered, and there in the cold lonely void he sat in his chair lost in the midst of eternal misery. No one to turn to, no one to look into their soul, to share, to think, he saw that in 1971 had he turned away from Julia , she would have begun her own life, and married someone else. For she at that point had that capacity to love, and he Barnabas felt void, violated, and robed. His soul was empty. Barnabas hysterical broke out into a cold sweat crying, "Julia , do not leave me, I command you to come to me, I cannot live without you. Do not leave me alone, I beg of you. I need you, Julia, I love you, Do not leave me here all alone, I cannot bear to face life alone and without you, Oh Julia I love you, come to me !" he sobbed. The sound of Julia's voice gone and of her face with her smile and her bright eyes gazing into his , was too much of a loss bear.

Barnabas continued to cry, "Julia, Julia come to me I need you do not leave me!"

It was though as though his heart had been ripped from her soul and he was destined to live a life with no one to love to see, to spoil him, hear him, smile to him, gaze into eyes, and nourish his soul. A life long existence destined for a living torment and loneliness was too much for him to believe. Her existence without Julia, He couldn't even think of it, an agony unto itself. Never to see her life again, her eyes, hear her voice. "No, I will not allow this to happen, Julia!"

Suddenly, Barnabas was awakened tenderly by his wife Julia, and he gazed into her eyes.

"Barnabas , my darling I am here. My dear, I am here holding, you Barnabas please don't cry, She tenderly touched him gently with her hand going down the tears that rolled down his cheeks. She clung to him and consoled him."

"Barnabas, you have had a bad dream , dear I am here, I will never leave your side, for I love you."

Julia went to get out of bed to get a rag to wash the tears from Barnabas' face , but scared and frightened , he grabbed ahold onto his wife, refusing to let her part from her side. Grateful, he grabbed his wife with such tenderness, and looked into her sleepy dark eyes, her silk nightrobe that clung sensually to her body, and her softness she displayed to him . She was irresistible to him, From there, she was consoling him but he ached for her. He turned to his wife, softly kissed her, looked into her eyes, and culminated his love passionately for her into the still of the night. All was silent.
