Barnabas and Julia ventured toward Seaview.

The beauty of the day presented itself. As they were walking closer to Seaview, they saw a glimpse of a blue roaring ocean.

They encountered Nicole, who was reading from a book. Next to her lay Jane Eyre. She had read that book over and over as a child. But it had always fascinated her. And between her readings, she would get up from her chair and view the sea.

Intense in her reading, she glimpsed up and saw her parents.

"Why, Mother and Father, how nice of you to visit. I was just enjoying the peace and quiet here. I truly love it here. There is something so peaceful and calm about this house. Do you know , your soul feels completely free here, next to the ocean. Of its so lovely. So tranquil and calming. If I ever lose sight Of these important things in life, then my perspective of life shall surely be dead, or my soul anyway."

"Was there something you needed, its not like father to leave the Old House unless something is bothering him."

"Anyway, if you don't mind I will like to stay here for a few more days with Charles. My poor husband and I have had little time to ourselves It will do us good to relax here. As you know we have never had a honeymoon, Charles is talking about going to Europe and England after the baby is born. He wants to show us where he grew up and all the places in Europe of culture. Mostly , he wants to me to see his estate where he grew up. Hopefully, we will be bringing back some art from Europe to put here for Byron. I made him a promise that when we married, we would go back and reside at the estate for about one or two months during the year. That way, we would remain at Collinwood the rest of the year. Charles said he had your approval of such before we were married."

"Yes, I did promise him that . I just can't believe it will be this soon already," sadly lamented Barnabas.

"We won't go until the baby is at least six months."

Julia, distracted now focused her attention on the matter at hand.

"Nicole , your father and I have something to talk to you about. Its about Adam Collins. We hear you have been spending a great deal of time with him here. You have offered him this house to live in, from what we hear from Elizabeth and you are thinking of establishing a medical practice in Collinsport. You have been spending time with him here too , what we have no idea of what you are talking about. Your father, and I feel this is inappropriate considering the circumstances. If you have not realized it, Nicole, Adam is in love with you, and he is seeking out companionship from you. And you are not available to him in the way he would like. And you Nicole, are a beautiful woman, passionate, soulful. Any man would fall in love with you. Right now, he needs to be comforted perhaps by others, he would benefit from like Dr. Halstead, Carolyn, or Elizabeth. He doesn't need to build a dependency on you."

"Mother, I am sorry, I just wanted to make up for differences between he and father. I know how Father feels about him , so I thought I would do it. Unless you and father are prepared to make amends with him? Are you willing to try? I hate to see both you and Adam at such odds. But if you are not, I consider Dr. Halstead or Charles to be quite worthy. And as you said,
He needs someone who is emotionally available for him. I never wanted to give him that impression."

"Well, apparently, he fell in love with you in parallel time, If the people at Collinwood are receptive to him, most likely he and Carolyn will end up together. Your father and I don't want any reoccurrence of 1795. We love Charles, and you. We don't want what happened to Jeremiah and Josette repeated where the entire Collins' family was nearly destroyed, your father turned into an animal, and most he loved gone from his life. We do not want to see that repeated. You are aware that Blair or Angelique could conjure a love spell , or something may happen . In fact, we will explain this to your husband also, so he won't get angry at Adam, perhaps befriend him , as Dr. Halstead has suggested. Adam is just lonely and vulnerable" replied Julia.

"Well , Barnabas do you have anything on this matter you wish to say to Nicole?"

"Yes, Nicole, if you do need to see Adam for the meanwhile, make sure one of us is with you , preferably, me , your mother, or Charles, or someone from Collinwood. It would be advisable for you to be alone with him here. Do I may myself clear. There is no room for error here do you understand. Think my child.. You may visit with Adam at Collinwood but there are others around. But alone, never. Do I make myself clear, Nicole." Barnabas said firmly to his eldest daughter.

"Yes ,father, I understand. If he asks me anything , I shall tell him the truth. And that there are others who want to help him aspire to his full potential. He will understand that. He is just lonely."

Nicole was acknowledging her parents with respect on the subject and agreed.

"Father and Mother, would you like some tea?" replied Nicole.

"Thank you, Nicole. That would be nice. But I better ask your mother , Julia ,my dear, would you also like some tea. Our conversation about Adam is concluded unless you have more to share, Julia."

"No, Barnabas , I agree, and yes I would also like some tea."

"Nicole, your mother and I shall have some tea with you , but we will not stay long. For I have a personal appointment alone with your mother tonight at a quiet Old House, is she agrees."

"Of course, my dear" smiled Julia.

"I hope you and Charles enjoy your few days together here. It will do both of you much good to be alone together" replied Barnabas.

"And don't forget , take care of my grandson," smiled Barnabas.
