Justin, restless from his conversation with his father and mother, who was still making a determination of his punishment pending a conversation with his father was determined to indulge his whims and that was to go back into time. So many times, he had heard of Quentin's staircase and of the travels of 1840 that led Barnabas and Julia to a most incredible encounter with Judah Zachary. What was more incredible was the concept of parallel time where he had heard tales of the same people and that their exact counterparts existed in a parallel universe. He couldn't face the fact that he Justin Collins existed in another time, and his counterpart could be an evil corrupt or different individual than he. Perplexed was he about this thought, but it fascinated him so. So he left his room, and without the counsel of his sister, he left a note to his parents in his room, he sneaked out the window of the Old House and ventured to The New House. He sneaked into the New House through the window in the drawing room, and climbed up the stair, where he ventured into the west wing, where he hoped that some remnant of Quentin's staircase existed. And to his surprise h e did find entry to the remains of that staircase and ventured back into the past, not knowing where it would lead.
