Subj: Unto the Generations Part 22

Back in the present time of 1988, Zachary awaited for his father to come to Collinwood. He and Dr. Halstead were conversing upstairs. Elliot Stokes had been called by Dr. Halstead to come Collinwood, and Dr. Halstead watched over Zachary to make sure he didn't go by himself to the past up Quentin's Staircase.

In the meantime, a knock was heard on the door. Barnabas was expected by instead it turned out to be Nicholas Blair.

"Hello, is Roger around?" I have come to ask him about a business matter?"

"He's still in Bangor finishing some business, he should be back soon, if you would like to wait " replied Elizabeth.

"We can catch up with some conversation , Mr. Blair , I haven't seen you for a long time ," replied Elizabeth.

"Well, business my dear, Elizabeth, tends to keep me preoccupied.: replied Blair.

"Seems like I never get enough time to relax anymore, but what I need is a vacation " laughed Nicholas.

"How has your family been doing , your husband and son Peter?"

"They are doing fine. Peter is in Boston with Charles Collins , while he attends a medical conference. My husband of course , basically is retired, and attends mostly cutural events, tutors our son, and attends to my needs she smiled. He has been a loving husband."

"Dr. Halstead is lucky once he met you he was charmed by your beauty , Elizabeth, medicine took a back seat rightfully so to you ." he smiled.

" I am afraid I have a business proposition for your brother which would involve the import of some of my products from the West Indies. I wanted the Collins Shipping business to be the company who shipped the product. Roger and I have been on such good terms for years. I would hate to see him lose the business. That is my purpose for my visit today."

"Well, Nicholas, I am sure, Roger will be delighted."

Mrs. Johnson came in to ask Elizabeth about some preparations and had to excuse herself.

"Elizabeth," while you are gone , I was wondering if I might look at some of the historical artifacts from upstairs. " replied Blair.

"Of couse, Nicholas, help yourself, and please excuse me, Roger should be home in an hour , make yourself at home."

Nicholas smiled and snickered.

"This is going all too well, Soon I will be in 1840 with Julia. Now I will finally have my chance to win her over, if I can keep Barnabas Collins to remain in this time. I will finally have a chance to court Dr. Hoffman Collins, maybe I will be lucky enough for her to fall in love with me."

Nicholas proceeded up the Quentins Staircase and made it disappear and impossible for others to follow him . For he made it vanish.

For once, Blair felt he would have his chance for Julia without Barnabas' influence for he did not love her in 1840.
