About 10:00 a.m. at Collinwood:
Julia and Elizabeth were having coffee in the drawing room when Barnabas enters.
Elizabeth invites, "Come in Barnabas. I'm sure you are ready for a cup of coffee."
"Yes, I would. Thank-you, Elizabeth." answers Barnabas.
"Well, what does Willie have to say?" asked Elizabeth as she pours the coffee.
"I'll let him give you all the details. He would like to talk to you first. He has several ideas for improvements." stated Barnabas as he seated himself on the sofa.
"I'll go and see then. Julia, I'll see you this afternoon." Elizabeth commented as she left the room.
Barnabas was dismayed to see Julia preparing to leave also. "Where are you off to Julia? I was hoping we could visit this morning." he said as he watched her drawing on her gloves.
"Sorry, I have an appointment.Bye now."
Barnabas sat sipping his coffee, pondering Julia's attitude. "Have I done something to offend her? She seems so distant." Slightly chargined, he thought, usually she is his shadow. Maybe he had been taking her for granted lately. Ah! He would give her a treat! Invite her to dinner. Yes, that's what he'd do.
Meanwhile:
Professor Stokes was in between classes, going over his lecture notes in his office, when a knock sounded a the door. "Come in." called Eliot. Seeing who the visitor was, he said, "Come in. Quentin my boy, have a seat."
Looking around, as he had never been in Eliot's office before, Quentin thought to himself,"Just what I would expect from Eliot." All the walls were covered with shelves of books and strange artifacts.
"Thank-you Eliot. I need to talk with you on a most urgent matter. There is a very immediate threat aimed against our family!" declared Quentin.
"Calm down, Quentin.I'm listening, pray procede."
"You know who Nicholas Blair is?" asked Quentin.
"Nicholas Blair! Of course I know of Blair. The supposed brother of Cassandra/ Angelica Collins. A most formidable warlock! Evil through and through. But he was destroyed after the second experiment failed to bring Eve back to life. Barnabas watched him be consumed by fire on Widow's Hill!" declared Eliot.
"He's either coming back or is here now, Eliot." avered Quentin.
"How do you know this, Quentin?" asked Eliot.
"This has to remain between the two of us Eliot. Do I have your word on it?"
Resting his elbows on the desk and steepling his fingers, Eliot leaned back in his chair. Taking a deep breath he said, "I can not promise that Quentin. When Elizabeth and I married, we swore complete honesty. I could no more withhold information from her, then I could leave her! I shouldn't presume to answer for Elizabeth, but in these circumstances I will. She and I will both keep silence." Vowed Eliot.
Quentin demanded, "You must make it very clear to her the importance of that promise. Angelique came to me." Quentin proceded to tell Eliot everything Angelique had related to him.
"The only thing I don't understand is. How do you remember Angelique?" asked Quentin.
"I see you have forgotten that I too have traveled through time. Well that is neither here nor there. I must prepare for this evening. I will need assistance to set the wards. Hum...I have a class in about 20 minutes. It should last 2 hours, but I'll cut it short. I'll meet you at Collinwood at 4:30."
