"Get Me To The Truck On Time"
Willie was almost out of breath by the time he got to The Old House. Maggie had called a Taxi. But it had taken off before Willie could figure out how to enter the vehicle undetected. He was worried about how upset Maggie had looked and just wanted to make sure she was okay before he left for Bangor.
Sneaking in the back way he heard voices coming from the sitting room. Barnabas and Julia were searching through a bunch of old books looking for some information on Quentin, the ghost du jour. Willie cautiously tiptoed through the room then quietly made his way up the stairs.
Because he would never have a better opportunity, on a wild impulse he snuck into Barnabas' bedroom and short sheeted his bed.
His mission accomplished he went to look for Maggie, but hearing footsteps coming up the stairs, he slowly opened the door to Josette's room and silently slipped inside. It was now late in the evening and Maggie had already fallen asleep. He sat down on the edge of the bed and watched her for awhile as she slept. Watching her this way he was overcome by a peaceful happiness. And he promised himself to never give up on winning her.
Somewhere within the house a clock rang out, warning him that midnight was drawing near. He leaned over and softly kissed her cheek. It was time to leave.
As he was making his way down the stairs he heard Barnabas bellow out, "Who has tampered with my bed? JULIA! JULIA!" Willie controlled himself as long as he could. But as soon as he made it out to the woods he let loose howling with laughter thinking of all the things he had seen this night. It was getting cold so he began to jog.

On a blanket somewhere in the woods Sasha Patterson and Toni Trask were busy getting to know each other. The sheriff had recently forbidden his daughter to have anything what so ever to do with "that Trask boy," which of course made him all the more desirable. As she rolled over coming up for air she stared at the sky and began to sing, "The only boy who could ever teach me, was the son of a preacher man." All of a sudden they could hear something moving through the bushes. Toni fumed, " I bet your old man has sent out the posse."
Sasha just smiled and stared up at the stars, "Groovy." She said imagining the look of horror on her father's face when he saw who she was with.
Then all of a sudden partially materializing out of thin air. A semi-transparent, but completely nude man appeared in mid flight above her and sailed over the startled couple.
He never stopped or turned around, but as the phantom stranger landed they could hear him regretfully utter, "Sorry."And they watched as he quickly vanished amongst the trees.
Annoyed at the unexpected interruption Toni asked, "Did you see who he was? Did you get a good look at his face?"
Sasha just smiled an evil smile and said playfully, "What makes you think I was looking at his face"

It was with great relief that Willie found the tree where he had stashed his clothes. He quickly put them on, grateful for the warmth they provided. By the time he got to the truck he was clearly visible again. But considering the lateness of the hour he was still able to get out of town without anyone seeing him.
When he got to Bangor he was able to call in a favor with one of his old contacts. Which put him in touch with a man who promised to do a rush job on the silver bullets in the morning. Barnabas would never find out about Willie's adventures in Collinsport that day.
In the hotel room Willie relaxed on the bed and thought of all the fantastic things that had happened that day. His face erupted in a happy grin, "Thank you Wonderful Bob!" He said wishing the old coot could hear him. Then he picked up the remote and tuned in the see what was on TV.
He couldn't believe what he was seeing. Earlier that day man had landed on the moon for the very first time. And now he Willie Loomis, although a bit late, was able to witness the whole incredible thing. Still grinning like a mad man he thought to himself, This REALLY had been ONE FINE DAY!
