Scully slept during their airplane trip home, and the car trip to their apartment. She was exhausted. Mulder wondered if she was as worried as he was. When they changed the past, had they changed the future?
One thing was different, Mulder was a vampire. He wondered if there would ever be a cure for that. He wasn't sure if he wanted a cure. Instead, he had the urge to cross his lover over. The thought of being with Dana forever appealed to him.
Mulder glanced at his watch. They hadn't lost any
time when they went into the past. It was still the anniversery of his younger
brother's death. Vos had only been six when he was killed at Collinwood. A werewolf
had killed the child. Unlike Samantha, there was never any hope that Vos would
come back to life. His little brother would always be six years old. Mulder
tried to force the memory of his brother out of his mind. It wouldn't help
the situation now.
As Mulder parked, he glanced at Scully. She was leaning against the door, sleeping. He wasn't sure he should wake her, after all she went through she was allowed to get some rest. She looked so beautiful when she was sleeping.
Scully's eyes flickered open. A lock of hair fell across her face. "Where are we?"
"We're home," Mulder reached out touching her face, moving the hair. "When we go inside, you can go straight to bed, and get some sleep."
"You've got a deal."
They left the car and went into the apartment building. Mulder took out his key, and unlocked the door to the apartment they shared. He opened the door, and switched on the lights.
The living room was decorated differently then it
had been the when they left. There was that white couch that used to be there
before he had moved in. He could still remember giving it to Byers when he moved
in his own
black couch.
Mulder wonder where his computer and fish tank that had taken over a corner was. There was another computer against the wall. He had seen it before, but where?
"Are you going to let me in?" Scully asked from behind him.
Mulder moved, letting her into the room. Then he shut the door behind her. There was a pile of mail on the table beside the couch; he went over to it, picking up the letters, going through them. None of them had his name on it; plenty had Melvin Frohike on them. He reached over to the answering machine, touching the play message button.
"You have reached Scully-Frohike apartment. I am away from the phone right now. Leave a message and I'll get back to you."
"You have one message," the machine said.
"Dana, this is Melvin." the unmistakable voice of Frohike said. "I know you've been bothering me ever since our marriage to let you meet my mother. She's coming into town during the weekend. So I think it would be a perfect time. Call me. I love you."
"You're married to Frohike?" Mulder couldn't believe his ears. "Frohike? Why him? Why not someone more desirable, like Byers?"
Scully reached out, touching his hand. "Of course I'm not married to him!"
Tears stung at Mulder's eyes. "Why didn't you tell me?"
"There is no him!" she insisted.
Mulder moved his hand, not letting her touch him. He moved around the apartment, looking for any sign of his ever living there, but found none. Instead there was plenty of signs of Melvin Frohike's presence.
//Scully and Frohike, // Mulder thought with disbelief. //Has Scully gone insane? Why Frohike? //
Mulder went into the bedroom, turned on the light. There was no large bookcase full of his video collection hogging the space of the small bedroom. No framed picture of them on their first date on the bedside table. Instead there was a photo of Frohike, standing behind Scully, holding her in his arms. They looked happy together. There was another photo, of the Lone Gunmen and Scully wearing a wedding gown.
Mulder went to the closet, inside he found Scully's clothes, and on the side that should have held his clothes, there was Frohike's.
Mulder fought the gag reflex he felt as he thought of Frohike being married to Scully. The tears that he had been keeping in began to fall down his cheek.
Scully came into the bedroom. "I think I know what happened, times changed."
"There's no us, after all we've went through, there's no us. You're with Frohike!" Mulder couldn't keep the despair out of his voice. The damn broke, and he began to sob, he sank down to the ground.
He was surprised to find Scully coming to him, she put her arms around him. "There's an us, I can remember us being involved."
"No one else can." he didn't pull away from her.
"Byers will remember."
Mulder sighed. "No one will believe him!"
"I can remember Barnabas telling me that time is like
a stream, and there is currents in the stream. That there are parallel times
running side by side. Perhaps our coming back from the past put us into another
stream."
Scully suggested.
"You mean there's another stream out there, that has another us?"
"Yeah, probably that Scully is going to be confused as why she's living with you, and not involved with Frohike."
"Or perhaps we did change the future, and we're stuck with this." Mulder moped.
"We are still involved," she said firmly. "We have memories of being in love with each other."
Mulder looked up to Scully, she kissed him. He pulled away from her a bit; he unbuttoned her shirt, opening it, reveling the pentagram tattoo on her breast. "I can still remember when you got this."
"Here's your evidence that there is an us." Scully told him.
"What's going to happen when Melvin comes home?"
"If he dares to show his face, I will throw him out." she paused. "You proposed to me, I plan to hold you to it."
"I love you."
Scully pulled the sleeve of her shirt up. "There is only one way you can trust me. Cross me over,"
Mulder took her hand, and brought it up to his lips. He kissed it, then he let her hand drop. "I can't take your blood."
"If we are both vampires, we can work together to find the cure." she told him.
"What if there is no cure?"
"Then our relationship is going to last a very long time." Scully reached out, tracing his face. He could smell the earthiness of her blood.
"If we do this, there is no going back." he told her. Trying to resist the smell. The temptation, he couldn't give into it.
She went to a drawer, and pulled a knife out. Then with one swift motion, she cut open her wrist. She didn't even blink when she told him. "Cross me over, or let me bleed to death, it's your choice."
"Scully, your insane." he said, watching the blood drip, fascinated. He fought down his urge to drink from her.
"I know you, you would consider crossing me over until I died of old age." She paused. "You're going to have to make a choice."
He loved her; he didn't want to let her die, which she would do if he didn't take action. He grabbed her wrist; first he licked at it, the feeling sensuous, "Mulder, your tongue feels like a cats," he heard Scully said.
He smiled at her, as he licked. Then he drank deeply. When he was finished drinking, he cut open his own wrist. He held it up to Scully, who as she drank, changed. Her eyes glowed golden the way he knew his did when he hungered.
"You hunger, I'll teach you to feed." he told her.
"Will I have to kill someone?" Scully asked.
"No, I can show you another way," Mulder paused. "Are you having second thoughts?"
She reached out, touching his face. "No, I'm not. I feel like I'm a part of you now."
"I love you Dana Scully," Her eyes were beginning to really turn him on. He could feel his teeth begin to grow.
Mulder was surprised when Scully put her hand behind his neck, and with her new vampire strength pulled his head down to her. She kissed him hard on the lips, pushing him against the floor, so that he was lying on his back. "I hunger, for you."
Scully franticly unbuttoned Mulder's clothes. She was in bloodlust. The agent could remember Barnabas telling him about that. There was no stopping a vampire in bloodlust. He didn't want to anyway. He wanted her to use him.
Scully leaned down, running her fangs across his bare chest. Her fangs nipped at his nipple. He couldn't help it, he gasped. This felt so good to him, so right. She smiled at him, her eyes golden. Then she got on top of him, and pulled up her skirt. She straddled him, then lowered herself down on his hardness.
Mulder's lover rode him franticly. As if only trying to fulfil her need. Her eyes went from golden to a red deeper then blood red.
The passions Mulder felt bubbled up inside him. Until his bloodlust began to flow. He had to have her.
Mulder sat up, then while he was still inside her; he pushed her against the wall. Then he began to thrust with animal abandon. Scully growled as he did. Her nails raked at his skin.
There was no thoughts, only feelings. The vampire urges Mulder had been holding back from her came out. As he neared orgasm, she bit down onto his juggler. Then he bit down on her. He came, shuddering.
They held onto each other. Then Mulder snagged Scully's wrist, caressing it, feeling the blood beneath the skin. "What if I told you that I don't want a cure for this? I like having a blood tie. I love the idea of us being together forever."
Scully smiled. "That's what we have, forever."
"Forever," he agreed, biting down on her wrist.
