Jacob Blair went upstairs and passed the vacant rooms which had once housed his sister, a sister he felt certain was dead. He couldn't bring her back, he could never tell her how he really felt. Somewhere, deep within his soul was a good person, A person who would never see the light of day as long the body it inhabited lived in Blair House. He glanced at a picture of the two of them at her high school graduation. He saw for the first time a look of pride that he was her brother, and a look of acceptance in her eyes, the look that begged for acceptance of her, the looks it took her death to bring forth. "From here on out Callista, If I do anything, I do it for you." He allowed himself this time to cry for a sister whom he had never really known, yet mercilessly tortured. "I'm sorry." he said to the picture, "I'm sorry."

Carolyn and Willie sat in the the back of the Blue Whale. It was an odd place to plan their wedding, but neither cared. Carolyn was in the middle of deciding bridesmaid's dresses when she suddenly stopped, and looked into Willie's eyes.
"I want to get married as soon as possible, I don't care about a church with hundreds of people, people I barely know who I see only at funerals and weddings. Let's get married now, not a second later!"

Willie nodded and they left, deciding that only the most important people to them should attend. Willie attempted to call Callista, but her phone didn't ring. He wasn't about to call Blair House. Carolyn was on the phone with a Reverend Strack when Willie realized that they were lacking a marriage license. "Don't worry, I'm a Collins, I tend to get what I want and I want to be Mrs. Willie Loomis tonight." she said with a teasing smile. Willie called the Old House, and was shocked to say the least that not only Barnabas was there, but Dana Scully also. Willie confided to Barnabas that they needed a dress, but he didn't know how they'd get one.

"Willie, you mustn't worry, things do work out for themselves." Barnabas hung up quickly then turned to face Scully. "Dana, my cousin Carolyn and Willie are getting married tonight, they request that we attend, shall we my dear?"

Scully wasn't used to her first name being used, let alone the phrase my dear, it was a welcome change however and she knew that was how Barnabas felt about her, as his dear. She smiled, nodding. they prepared to leave when Barnabas
stopped at the stairs leading upstairs.

"I won't be but a moment, Dana, I feel as if Carolyn should have this." Scully watched as Barnabas went upstairs, then returned with a garment bag a few minutes later. The walk was silent, the full moon lighting their path. Scully's silence was in an attempt to understand why Barnabas had fallen in love with her in such a short amount of time. Scully had been toyed with, and hurt, nearly died because of Mulder, yet she still loved him. With Barnabas, she felt as though she would never get hurt again. She felt she could love Barnabas. But one never really understands love in Collinsport, no where else really. It merely intoxicates us. Each simple gesture, toward the object of our affection intoxicates us farther and farther, until the gaps between the soul's is bridged or until the love fades, only to renew for another. If they had stayed for only a minute longer inside the Old House, they would have received a telephone call, a call from Michael McGuire, who just witnessed an event that would mark the beginning of the return of the dark shadows that were a bitter memory of the past.
