Michael watched the sun rise from his bedroom at Collinwood. He found Willie and Carolyn already up and David Collins' reading the newspaper with a distressed look on his face. "There was another attack, just like 30 years ago." David said, not looking up.
"What kind of attack?" Willie asked, reaching for a danish. "The second kind, not the alleged vampire attacks, the other ones." Willie sighed, then put his arm around Carolyn. Roger was wheeled into the dining room by Maggie who sat down and gasped when she read the headline of the newspaper. The breakfast was eaten in silence, no one wanted to think that the attacks had started up again. Michael found Callista had left already to wherever people went in this microscopic town, but he found Mulder asleep on the couch. Michael closed the door lightly, then went to find his father's grave. He couldn't allow anyone to follow him.

Angelique returned to Blair House to find Jacob sitting in his room cleaning an old gun and Nicholas in Callista's old room. Carolyn had suggested that they continue to allow Nicholas to believe Callista was still comatose. Angelique reflected on her life. With Barnabas, she could do whatever she wanted, and she had been a go getting person. 'Now I bow to Nicholas' every whim', she thought bitterly. 'but not anymore,' "Nicholas," Angelique called to her husband. Nicholas turned and patted the bed in a gesture that she should sit with him. Angelique noticed that he was holding a porcelain doll. Not moving closer to him Angelique gave him a cold smile. "Is that what you wanted Nicholas, a beautiful doll? A puppet who would fetch your slippers? A doll who would earn all of her parents master's pride? Is that why you said you loved me? Do you really think that I would stay and play house with you forever? Well you never got your dolls, did you? Not in Callista and you will never have one in me!" Angelique spun on her heel and exited the room. Nicholas stood in shock at his wife's sudden burst. Jacob watched from outside. He watched through binoculars was the brown liquid fell from the sprinkler system his father was so proud of. His friend, a plumber and convicted arsonist was watching Angelique from another view. He wondered why Jacob had asked him to mess up the sprinkler system and put gasoline in the pipes instead of water, but he was promised a bang of a fire tonight. Jacob had promised him a large sum of money if he helped move some of the better stuff out before the flame. Like Jacob asked, he threw the rock through the window when Angelique was done packing. She ignored the stone and walked out of Blair House. Jacob hid in the large exotic garden while Angelique walked by, suitcase in hand. Jacob entered Blair House by a servants door and walked quickly to where his father was.
"Father," Jacob said, entering the room smiling.
"Jacob, dear boy, promise me that you will never get married, it's simply not worth the effort."
Jacob reached in his pocket and found a lighter."Father, I think that lamp on the dresser would be fabulous if it were illuminated. I suggest you light it." Extending his lighter to his father, Jacob crossed over and retrieved the lamp.
"It's a lamp, nothing more than an oil lamp."
"Please, light it, just to humor me." Jacob insisted. When his father lit the lighter, the room went up in flames. Jacob jumped out of the window of the hallway, landing hard on a small shrub. He met his friend in the driveway and they watched as the building formerly known as Blair House became nothing more than a ruin and ashes.

Michael opened the front door of the Old House quietly,
and waited for a moment to see if his presence was detected. Satisfied that
it wasn't, he crept towards the doors in which the basement
lay. He walked carefully down the stairs, shining his flashlight beam around.
He dropped it when he spotted a coffin.
Walking towards it, he suddenly was stopped by a set of hands on his shoulder. He turned and gasped, seeing who his companion was.
