Then she heard someone. “Who’s out there?” the voice asked. It was Willie. Vicki felt that she could cry from relief.

“Willie it’s me, Vicki. I fell of Widow’s Hill. Please help me.” He was soon at the edge of the cliff, pulling her to safety. “Thank you. I thought no one would come by in time.”

“I’m glad I could help. Are you hurt?”

“No, I’m fine. Just a little scratched up I think.”

“How did you get down there?”

“I was saw someone in the woods. I tried to follow, but the fog was so thick I couldn’t see where I was going, and fell,”

“Who was it?”

“I don’t know, that’s what I wanted to find out. If you see Barnabas, I would prefer that you didn’t tell him about this. He has enough to think about already without worrying about me.”

“Alright, I won’t tell him. But maybe you should talk to someone about this. Doctor Hoffman’s smart, maybe she can help you.”

“Thank you, Willie.”

While Vicki was being rescued from Widow’s Hill, a woman found herself in the woods. She felt like she had just woke up from a long night’s sleep, except she hadn’t been sleeping, and couldn’t remember how she got in the woods. The last thing she remembered was that she had been in her bedroom reading. This had happened twice before. After her first blackout she had found herself in the woods. She had been able to dismiss that as sleepwalking, even though that was something she hadn’t done before. The last time it had been just yesterday. She had lost nearly a whole day, and she found herself on a train on her way back to Collinsport. What had she been doing out of town? She was being increasingly disturbed by her blackouts. Where had she been going? What had she been doing? Thankfully she had an appointment with a Psychiatrist tomorrow afternoon, his name was Louis Hillard. She had made the appointment after she found herself on the train. She had been lucky to get in so quickly, but he had a cancellation. She hated having to see a psychiatrist, but she saw no alternative, she had to find out what was happening to her.

Vicki awoke early the next morning. She wanted to continue searching the woods, she was sure that she had been getting close to something yesterday before she saw the mysterious woman. This time she would be more careful. She wouldn’t let the mysterious woman distract her. She walked through the woods again to the spot where she had first seen the woman. She turned her eyes to the ground and continued her search. It wasn’t long before something caught her eye. It was a blue piece of something tangled in a bush. When she got closer she saw that it was a small piece of blue fabric, and it had drops of blood on it. Surely this was the evidence she needed to clear Barnabas.
