The Funhouse mirror Pt.7

~~~
Present time, in a distant galaxy. The planet called Grace.
---
It is a world of vague shadows, the sky almost black, lighted by only a few almost indistinct stars. Those celestial bodies being very distant. This world is a place, strangely alone in space. A reclusive place, dark and very cold. The two men walked through the thick snow, their feet leaving footprints upon the virgin ice.
"Your friends are bastards," Barnabas said, walking along. "Someday, Blair, I'll..."
"This was never my idea," Nicholas said, quietly. "I'm cruel, but even I would never dream of something like this." He moved closer to Barnabas, his breath seeming like smoke in the extreme cold. He raised his eyebrows. "Mr. Collins, this may be very hard for you to believe, but this world was once a tropical paradise, the homeworld of Josette duPres and her kind...."
"Until your people destroyed it," completed Barnabas, "draining the world of its lifeblood, taking away the warmth of its Sun. This is what your friends plan for the Earth."
"Yes," Nicholas admitted, "with your help. Someday, the Earth will be just like this." He looked ahead at the large building looming in the distance. "My Master harbors no love for humanity. Your suffering has always been his delight."
"You are a blackguard," Barnabas said, " and someday, I'm going to take great pleasure in killing you."
"Someday," Nicholas repeated, laughing softly, "perhaps, but for today, I'm your better. And unless, you want something to happen to your family. You will do my bidding."
Inside the house, Sarah Collins was very excited. "Is it true...is he coming?" The eleven year old, sat on the floor, cutting out paperdolls. The dolls were always the same, in the shape of a toy soldier. They were of Barnabas, her older brother, her hero.
"Yes," Naomi said, rocking in her chair. She was sipping wine. Trapped inside this house, unable to go outside, there was very little else to do. Only her love for Sarah, kept her from becoming a total lush. "The witch told me that he was coming."
"Barnabas loves us so much," Sarah said, laughing. "He will find a way for us to escape, see the sunlight again. I just know he will."
"I hope so, my darling," Naomi said. "If anyone can...he will."
Barnabas walked in from the cold, hanging his thick coats in the foyer closet. Sarah ran into his arms. "What did you bring me?" she asked giggling.
Barnabas opened his carrying case. "I brought you this." He said, reaching for a doll. "It's called a Barbie doll. It's very popular on Earth in the twentieth century."
Sarah looked at the blond haired doll, her expression suddenly changing. She threw the doll on the floor. "No, I hate it!. It looks too much like the witch. I don't want this doll, Barnabas."
"Sarah," a voice called from the stairway, "there is no need to be so rude. Pick-up the doll and thank your brother."
Barnabas looked up into the eyes of Angelique, the witch.
Moments, later, in the study, Angelique and Barnabas embraced. He could feel her nipples standing erect through her black blouse. "How I despise you," Barnabas said, kissing her deeply. He reached under her skirt, feeling her dampness
Angelique could feel his hard member starting to rise against his thick woolen trousers. "Yes, I know that you do But I love you. Now, fuck me beloved, before brother Nicholas interrupts."
In the main room, Nicholas smoked a cigar, sipping a glass of brandy, sitting in a chair across from the fireplace, where Joshua stood glaring at him. "Nicholas, I have some questions for you. And I hope that you will have the graciousness to answer them with candor."
"Of course, " Nicholas said, smiling, "afterall, I'm your guest at Collinwood. This is your home."
"But this really isn't Collinwood is it?" Joshua asked.
"No," replied the dark haired warlock, "it is but a facsimile, a duplicate of your family home of 1796."
"Sir," Joshua asked, "is it also not a fact...." He took a deep breath. "That, my family and I are dead, brought back for some evil purpose involving my son, Barnabas. You seek to control him through us."
"Yes," admitted Nicholas. "You are pawns in a very large game. Nothing but pawns. Of no value really."
"Except to Barnabas," Joshua said. "You are using us." He moved closer to Nicholas. "Please sir, I beg you. Allow us to return to our graves. Have the peace that God intended."
"I'm very sorry," Nicholas said, shaking his head. "But that is out of the question. The plan is working so very well." He stood-up. "If it makes you feel any better, Mr.Collins. I, too, am but a puppet, in this great drama. It is all for the sheer amusement of my Master."
Joshua fell into his chair. He was tired, so very tired, and there appeared to be no escape. He never wanted to live forever and longed for the cold, soothing darkness, of the grave.
Outside of the house, deep in the ground, below many layers of frozen ice, there was a cave, where warm spring waters ran into a crystal clear pond. The three sisters swam. They were beautiful creatures, with dark auburn hair, skin the color of ivory, their blood was ambrosia, which made them both immortal and forever young. Their names were Aglaia, Thalia, and Euphrosyne. They were both very worried and angry. They shared thoughts telepathically.
Thalia { How dare they do this! First, they destroyed our world, and now they use our sister, Josette, in this terrible way}
Euphrosyne { We could destroy them, pool our strength together. Destroy this place they call Collinwood.}
Aglaia { No, my sisters. There is a way. It will take great courage...but we can do it. One of us must merge with the blond haired one--the witch. And then she can travel to the Earth, rescue our sister. And find the great demon, called Diabolos, and destroy him.}
Thalia { I will do it, my sisters.}
Sleeping, Barnabas lay naked on the bed. Angelique rested her head on his chest. She toyed with his limp penis. Oh, how, I love him! She thought. He is so beautiful, every part of him. She never noticed a growing light in the corner of the bedroom. The light was phosphoric, glowing with a redish tint. The light hovered above her and then suddenly falling, merging with her. Now, living inside of Angelique, there were two personalities, Angelique and a Grace by the name of Thalia.
