High in the mountains of what used to be called Tibet. There stood a castle. It had very high walls, and was surrounded by a moat of acid. It was an impressive looking place and very frightening. It was the home of Count Andreas Petofi.
His kiss had left a bitter taste in his mouth. Aristede tried to smile. He had so much on his mind, but the Count must not be allowed to suspect. "Excellency...you needed to speak with me," the dark haired young man said.
"My dear boy," Petofi said, "there is one great pleasure in immortality, the joy of exploring your body. That decision that I made long ago, to have Tate paint you, is one that I will never regret." He blinked his eyes behind his thick rimmed glasses. "Even so, there is a certain boredom to it." He chuckled. "We are villains my beloved. And our existence seems to lack something with no one to hurt, control, or destroy."
"But what can we do about it?" Aristede asked. "All of mankind is gone. There isn't anyone left."
Petofi walked over to the corner of the room. The room was filled with priceless paintings from every era of mankind. He moved to one painting that was covered with a sheet. "But that is where you are wrong, my cherished one." He pulled the cover away from the painting, revealing a grotesque looking figure covered with terrible wounds and blemishes. At the bottom of the painting was written the words---Quentin Collins 1897. "We are not alone...he must still be alive somewhere."
Inside the TARDIS, Quentin and Barnabas tried to have a discussion, but the sounds coming from the other room clearly bothered them.
"Where are going... did the Doctor say?" Barnabas asked. The sound of sexual moaning filled the air.
"He said that Lily pushed the red button," Quentin replied. "And that should take us to the furthest time from our starting point. It is a type of panic button for emergencies." In the background he heard the Doctor groan. "I guess that it was an accident...actually...he was going to take us back to our choice of destinations...but Lily is somewhat imperious and wanted to push that...umm...button." He started to walk towards the closed door. "Cousin, I don't think I can stand this anymore...this has been going on for hours." He raised his eyebrows. "Just how long can they do it? This is killing me."
Barnabas moved in front of Quentin blocking the door. "Please cousin, we must not be rude to our host. His lovemaking with Lily is his business." A small bit of drool ran down his lip. "I know how you feel but..."
"Barnabas, it has never been my style," Quentin said, "but I'm going to go in there right now and pull him off of her and..."
"Don't you dare," Barnabas said, raising his cane, his vampire fangs protruding from their sheath. His eyes glared. "The woman is mine."
The Doctor opened the door, zipping up his pants. "How is everything? I just received the alarm...we have arrived at our destination." He looked at the two men. Barnabas had his hands around Quentin's neck about to choke him. Quentin's face was red with rage. The Doctor smiled. "Jelly babies anyone...I just found an unopened pack." He popped a red one into his mouth. "They are quite delicious."
In the dungeon of the castle, Aristede walked over to the chained coffin. "Beth....things are getting so much more difficult. You know that I love the Count." He laughed softly. "Of course, you know that, I've been coming down here for centuries. People had diaries, I've always had my Beth Chavez...a vampire kept prisoner. Well, I told you last time about finding that cave. There is something magical about it...I felt that from the beginning. There is a small pond in the center of it, where the water shines like silver...."
She was beautiful with dark hair and lovely bewitching eyes. I saw her reflection in the center of the pond. At first she scared me, when I looked behind me and no one was there. She seemed to live only in the silver stream. But when she spoke my name all fear seemed to fade away, replaced by powerful feelings. I think that I fell in love with her from that moment.
"Aristede, my name is Julianka."
