There was something primal about her, with her black hair, sharp and cutting taloned fingers. She was a Goddess. There could be no doubt about that. But she would be a Goddess to fear, as well as, love. Reaching around his neck, she opened his jugular with her incisors. She tasted the warm blood with it's salty and coppery taste. The man felt his manhood stiffen, as his very life blood was being taken from him. It was a contradiction. An organ that depended upon the flow of blood, increased as the flow slowed. Perhaps it was because of the erotic nature of the experience, or was natures way of affirming life over death. The man shuddered with one final orgasm and fell to the ground of the alley. He was dead.
Victoria Winters woke from the nightmare. Her body was covered with sweat. She heard the sound of a vacuum in the hallway. It must be Mrs Johnson cleaning. Which means that she overslept again. She put on her robe and opened the door.
"Oh, Miss Winters," Sarah Johnson said, "Did I wake you. I didn't mean to-"
"What time is it?" Vicki asked, rubbing her eyes.
"It's just past eleven," the housekeeper replied. "Mr Roger, told me not to bother you. He dropped little Davy off at the library. They have a special summer program for kids his age. Mr Collins told me to tell you not to worry about David's lessons for the next few weeks."
"I feel terrible," Vicki said, "I just don't know what's the matter with me. I just can't wake- up. I have these dreams..."
"I never remember dreaming," Mrs Johnson said, "I guess that I probably do, just don't remember, that's all."
"Is Doctor Hoffman still here?" Vicki asked.
"Yes, she is downstairs in the drawing room."
"Good, maybe she can help me," Vicki said. "Could you do me a favor and tell her that I'll be downstairs to see her in a few minutes?"
Julia Hoffman sat drinking her coffee, while nibbling
at a piece of toast with strawberry jam. She wondered what Vicki wanted to speak
about. There was something bothering the young Governess, she was sure about
that. Vicki seemed to spend at least half of her life in bed. Julia smiled to
herself, thinking about that word bed. The very word was now very erotic to
her. She thought about last night with Barnabas. He had been wonderful! How
did that saying go... life begins at forty. Well for her, it certainly had.
Their love making was wonderful beyond all descriptions. Words failed to describe
it. Making love with ones soulmate...pure
heaven.
"Doctor Hoffman," Vicki said, walking into the room, "I need your help."

"And how long have you had these dreams?" Julia asked.
"For several months," Vicki replied. "And they are always the same. A woman with my face, with coal colored black hair, is bitting a man in an isolated alley. She has long fangs, a gold necklace around her neck with a reverse cross hanging. She is wearing a low cut black gown." Vicki sobbed. "I just understand...she is bitting a man, killing him." She sat up and looked at Julia plaintively. "You know me...I would never hurt anyone, but yet I find the dream, both frightening and arousing."
"The mind is a creative organ," Julia replied calmly, "Our dreams are sometimes just recreation for our desires. I wouldn't worry about the dream. The fact that you dream it, doesn't mean anything bad about you. Remember it is just a dream...no one is actually getting hurt."
"I don't know...this seems very real. Sometimes, the woman in the dream looks up at me. She seems to know that I'm watching and it gives her pleasure."
"What I am worried about is these very prolonged sleeping cycles that you have been experiencing. It just isn't healthy to sleep twelve hours or more, every day. It interferes with your job and your social life."
"Your social life has been very good lately," Vicki said smiling. "I've never seen Barnabas so happy. I'm very happy for both of you."
"Yes," Julia said, "Hopefully there will be the sound of wedding bells in the halls of the old house very soon. Barnabas and I hope for an October wedding."
"That is wonderful news!"
"Thank you," Julia said, "Vicki...." She wrote down something on a tiny piece of paper. "I'm going to write a prescription for you. It's a new drug that offers hope for people with sleep disorders. It allows a deep refreshing sleep with very little rem activity. REM-means rapid eye movement, dreaming."
"Will this stop the dream?" Vicki asked.
"It should," the attractive doctor replied, "But please let me know if you have any further problems."

Upstairs in the abandoned east wing, there was room filled with cobwebs, old yellowed books, ancient child's toys from many generations ago. There was a stillness in the room. A silence, that had not been broken for over a hundred years. But then suddenly reality shifted and a large black box appeared. It was coffin, old and covered with dust. Inside the box was a creature, not evil, but amoral, laying stiff. She appeared to be dead. But her mind was filled with thoughts. "My sister, I pray to Lilith at each dawn, how I long to be with you. We are twins in more than appearance. We are twin souls, two halves of a whole, both of us not complete, until one night, we shall be together."
That night, there was a knock at the door. Mrs Johnson went to answer it. She gasped, opening it. "Miss Winters, is that you? You look so different."
"The black haired woman smiled, "No, you are mistaken, my dear woman; we have never met. My name is Alexandra. I just arrived from England. I'm here to see my sister Victoria. Is she here? I was told in town that she was employed as a governess here."
