The Old House--The master bedroom

In the bathroom,Vicki proceeded to floss her teeth, being very gentle, because lately she had been having problems with her gums. She was very distracted though, 'how was she going to break the news to Barnabas and Julia about their new household guest? She had put the poor woman in the old servant quarters. What else could she do? She knew what it was like to be lost with no connection to family.'

"Vicki," Barnabas called from the bedroom, "are you all right? Julia and I are ready to retire for the evening." The handsome ex-vampire lay in the king size bed with Julia. He was wearing his long red pajamas.

"Yes, darling," Vicki replied. "I'll be there in a minute. I'm just brushing my teeth."

Julia who was wearing her black negligee, rubbed up against Barnabas. She blew her hot breath into his ear, licking his lobes. "Are sure that you just want to sleep?" she teased.

"I just can't believe that Nicholas Blair," Barnabas said sitting up against a pillow, "after all the help I've been to his political
ambitions."

"Is there a problem with Mayor Blair?" Julia asked.

"It's those damn Grundy's," Barnabas replied. "Julia, you know that I've never been a snob...I have never been like my father Joshua. But Julia, putting a double wide house trailer on Collins property. It's an outrage!"

Julia sat up shaking her head. "Barnabas, that is Grundy property. You and I both checked the public records. Edward Collins had an affair with a waitress who worked at the Blue Whale...her name was Melinda Warren Grundy. He left that tract of land to her in his will."

"I know, but I hate them," Barnabas groaned. "They are nothing but trailer trash!"

Vicki walked out of the bathroom. She was wearing her usual bedtime clothes, consisting of a long t-shirt and lace white panties. She crawled under the sheet next to Barnabas. "Barnabas...Julia," Vicki said softly, "there something that I should tell you." She took a deep breath. "I hope...I really hope, you'll understand." She crossed her fingers under the sheets.
