Josette woke up with the sense of being alone, she turned and found that Barnabas was gone. She looked at the clock on the table; it was nine. She began to cry, what happened last night couldn't have been a dream.

Once she was in Barnabas' arms he kissed her, "Your cold," he said.

She realized that she was shaking, she remembered that she was naked. He wrapped his coat around her and they went into the bedroom.

"I thought I would never see you again," she said looking up at him.

"Let's not talk about that," he said pushing her hair back from her face, it was damp and some strands stuck to her face. "You're so beautiful," he murmured caressing her face, he didn't think he would ever get to touch, hold, feel her touch again.

"What happened," she begged, "How can you be here now?"

Barnabas wanted to spare her the awful truth of how he was with her now, she had suffered enough, wasn't it better for her to think that it was all some mistake. He leaned closer and kissed her deeply, making her forget all her doubts and fears.

His hands slide down her body touching her in ways that only he could, her hands went to his pants undoing them and with his help took them off. It was like nothing happened, everything was as it should have been, they were together in the house that was built just for them.

Josette cried out for Barnabas, tears streaming down her face. Barnabas looked down at her, "Why are you crying sweetheart?" he asks.

"I'm just so happy, I've dreamed that you'd come back to me, and now here you are."

"I'm here and no one will ever come between us again," he reassures her. He wants more of her, and from her response, he knows that she wants him. He takes his time until their passion overpowered them and they clung to each other.

Josette nestled her head into his chest, a smile of contentment was on her face as she drifted off to sleep.

He looked at her in wonderment, he was lucky indeed to have such a woman so much in love with him. He turned his head and looked out the windows, the sun was peaking over the horizon, he reluctantly rose from the bed, careful not to wake her. Before he left the room through the French doors he kissed her forehead.

"I thought you wouldn't come back," Ben said as Barnabas walked into the secret room of the Mausoleum.

"I didn't want to leave her," Barnabas said as the door closed behind him.

"What are you going to do?" Ben asked.

"I don't know, I can't leave now. Josette needs me, and God know I need her."

"You're not going to do anything to her are you," Ben asked nervously.

"Of course not," Barnabas said his temper rising, "I could never do anything to hurt Josette."

"I know that Barnabas, I just," Ben trailed off. "You can't stay here, you are dead to your family, there's no way you could have a life with Josette."

"I'll think of something," Barnabas said, "I must sleep now, come back tonight." Ben nodded and walked to the door, "Ben," Barnabas said.

Ben looked back, "Yeah?"

"Thank you."

Screams woke Joshua and Naomi Collins. They rushed to their daughter's room. Sarah was sitting up in her bed, her face was so white.

"Sarah what's wrong," Joshua entreated. He couldn't stand to see his baby girl like this, she had nightmares almost ever night. They had to take her out of school. She was growing distant, and rarely spoke to anyone.

Naomi held her in her arms, tears streaming down her face, she looked helplessly at Joshua. She knew that it was time for them to take her to Wyndcliff, but she had prayed that Sarah would come back to them.

At noon Josette left Valrosa, she had been going to Collinwood to visit Sarah ever since the nightmares began, she read to her or just sat by her side.

"Naomi what's wrong," Josette asked with concern.

"It's Sarah, she's getting no better, Joshua thinks it's time we take her to Wyndcliff."

"Can I see her?" Josette asked.

Naomi nodded, and walked with her to Sarah's room.

Josette fought back the tears as she looked at the girl. She didn't react to them entering her room, it was like she didn't know they were there. "I'll leave you two alone," Naomi said softly.

Josette went to Sarah's side, she took out the book from her purse. "Would you like me to finish the book Sarah?" she asked.

Sarah didn't acknowledge her so Josette opened the book to the last chapter, "Chapter twenty-four, Home Again."

"'Aunt Em had just come out of the house to water the cabbages when she looked up and saw Dorothy running towards her.
"My darling child!" she cried, folding the little girl in her arms and covering her face with kisses; "where in the world did you come from?"
"From the Land of Oz," said Dorothy, gravely. "And here is Toto too. And oh, Aunt Em! I'm so glad to be at home again!""

Josette finished and closed the book, she looked at Sarah and thought that she saw something in the girls eyes.

Abruptly the girl turned to Josette and looked her in the eyes and said in a solemn voice, "I know he's back. He's come to you.
