"You think she'll be coming for me," Josette asked Barnabas.

"She is not finished yet, and I do not doubt that you will be next on her list of people to hurt."

"But why hasn't she come sooner?"

"I don't know, but I would feel better if you were gone."

"I can't leave your mother is helping me prepare for the baby and the party. Even if I left do you really think I would be safe from her? I am safer here with you and your father looking after me."

"I suppose your right, now what is that you wanted to show me?" Barnabas asked.

Josette got up and went to the television and pushed the play button on the VCR. "This is what I wanted to show you," she said.

Barnabas turned to the screen and watched with amazement at what he saw. "Is that. . . ?" he asked.

"Yes that's our baby girl, Noah gave me a copy the other day."

"How did that go? I thought about you," Barnabas said.

"It went fine, Peter went with me. Noah said that the baby looks completely normal."

"When will he tell you the results of the amniocentesis?" Barnabas asked.

"He said that he would call in a couple of days," Josette replied.

Barnabas stood up and took her into his arms, "I have to go," he said.

"Already," Josette asked.

"I'm afraid so, Dad right, the sooner I'm out of your life the better."

"That's not true," Josette said.

"I know it doesn't seem like it now, but soon you will see that it is, especially when our daughter is born."

Angèlique sat in a red room. She had been waiting so long to see the Master. She thought of Barnabas everyday, she wished that she hadn't set the curse on him, but it was his own fault, why didn't he love her like he once did.

"The Master will see you now," said the man in the black robes.

It's about time Angélique thought, as she stood up following the man into the office.

How it contrasted with the red room had just been in. It was decorated in the Regency period. It was a lovely room.

"Welcome Angèlique. I've been expecting you. So sorry it took me so long to see you. You know how it is, hair appointments, nail appointments. Can't seem to fit it all in and see everyone who has an appointment."

Angèlique stared; she couldn't believe her eyes.

Sitting behind a large ornate desk sat none other than Josette, dressed in a striking red suit.

"Don't look so shocked," Josette said, "I'm not really her. I'm the devil, as you know. Everyone who sees me sees something completely different. Usually it is the person you hate the most, sometimes not."

The devil stood and walked to Angèlique. "You have much to learn, dear. You must learn some things before you can complete you plan. That is way you haven't been able to leave this place, and you won't until you have learned all that I want you to."

"The phone for you Mrs. Collins," said May.

"Thank you May," Josette said taking the phone. "Hello?"

"Josette, its Noah. I've got the results to your amniocentesis, do you want me to come over?"

"Yes, that would be wonderful, thank you."

"I'll be over soon," Noah said.

"All right, bye," she said.

She waited by the window getting more nervous as time went on, what if the baby was like Barnabas.

She couldn't think like that, it would drive her crazy. Finally she Noah's car pull into the dive way of Valrosa.

She met him at the door, "Nervous?" he asked.

"Very," she said leading him into the house.

When they got into the drawing room, he turned to her and smiled, "The baby's perfectly fine, the cells weren't present. You are going to have a perfectly healthy baby girl."

Josette jumped up and hugged Noah, "Thank you, thank you," she said.

Noah smiled, "Do you want me to tell Joshua or do you want to," he asked.

"Would you come with me," Josette asked.

"Of course I will," Noah said.

In Joshua's office at the Collinsport Enterprises, Josette and Noah sat waiting for Joshua to return.

"Sorry I had to finish something up with the Paris office. You have the results?"

"Yes, Noah just brought them to me," Josette said.

"Well," Joshua asked expectantly.

"The baby is perfectly normal, the cells were not present," Josette said with a smile of joy on her face.

"That's wonderful," Joshua said kissing Josette's forehead, "I'm so happy to hear that."

"I'm so relieved," Josette admitted, "I was getting so nervous."

"Well now we have to think about the birth, I know it still is sometime away, but it is something we need to think about. Everyone thinks that you are five and a half months pregnant."

Josette nodded, Noah got up and said, "We better go and let you get back to work. I think it would be best if you and I talked about that before we discussed it together. Would that be okay Josette?"

"Yes," she said getting up and following Noah out the door.

"I did want you to get upset, but it will something that we will need to talk about."

"I know, thank you," Josette said getting into the car.
