Julia gasped when she looked in the little box; she began to process what Barnabas was saying to her.
"Will you marry me Julia?" Barnabas asked.
The room went quiet, they were just as speechless as Julia.
Had Barnabas really just asked her to marry him, she asked herself, her mind racing. She had yearned for that for so long. She had stood by as he went from one pretty girl to another, never thinking of her as anything but a friend.
"Well Julia?" he asked taking her hands.
"Yes I will marry you," she exclaimed.
He pulled her up and drew her to him and kissed her, it was like no other kiss she had ever experienced. They began to laugh, and held each other close.
"I will make you so happy Julia," Barnabas vowed, and took her into his arms again, and kissed her.
