Quentin's Thoughts and Barnabas' Demise XXIV
The Old House, three months later.......
It had been quite some time since Quentin and Barnabas had been cured of their curses. So much had happened since then and so many wonderful things had taken place that Quentin sometimes found it hard to believe that he had ever been cursed.
The night after Quentin had been cured, the gypsies came to the Old House in search of Magda and Sandor. Angelique had managed to persuade King Johnny that they had been so helpful with the eventually destruction of Tabitha and Count Petofi, that King Johnny had dropped all charges against them. They were allowed back in the clan and the camp had left Collinsport about three weeks later. But not before Magda had gone to see Quentin's daughter Lenore who was doing very well. She was healthy and strong and really a beautiful little girl. And Magda knew that the little girl would no longer carry the curse of the werewolf in her blood!
Quentin and Rachel had truly fallen in love and married about a month after the cure. They were extremely happy and very devoted to each other. Magda had persuaded Quentin to take his daughter home and raise her as he should. As a proud father, Quentin doted on the little girl, she was his pride and joy. And Rachel too, was very happy to have the little girl in their lives. She loved the little Lenore who also returned the affection.
Aristede and Beth also had fallen in love and had moved to Bangor. They had not married yet, but it was certain they would in the near future. Beth was allowed to leave the Collins household, (a gift from Quentin) and given a small sum of money by Edward for all her help with Jenny. She and Aristede may be living in Bangor but came to Collnsport quite often to see all of their friends.
And of course Angelique and Barnabas were very happy as well. In fact, this night they had been married in the Old House, (just as it had happened over a century ago) but this time it was different. There were many people there to join in the celebration. Angelique looked beautiful in her white dress that came directly from France! Barnabas laughed a great deal at that one. But Angelique didn't mind. She intended to be the grand mistress of the Old House as she once was. And Barnabas was so very much in love with her. The wedding was very beautiful and there wasn't a dry eye in the house.
Later, during the evening's celebration of the wedding, Barnabas went down to the cellar to fetch some more wine! He happened by the room where he for so long a time had slept in a coffin by day. When he looked in the room he was sure that he saw a coffin there. But he knew it was only his imagination!
He walked on to get the wine, but as he was coming back he thought he saw movement in that room. He walked into the room and looked around. Then he sensed a presence. He wheeled around and came face to face with a man that looked just like him. The same build, the same eyes, the same mannerisms. This man seemed just as surprised as he. Barnabas said, "Who are you?"
The man replied, "My name is Barnabas Collins and you have come into a room you should never have entered." And then the man suddenly bared his fangs and sank them into Barnabas neck!
The End........???????
