Winds of Change Part 8
The door from the interrogation room opened and Peter Bradford walked to Vicki's cell, unlocking the door.
"What's happened, Peter? You were gone for so very long. I was worried."
"I'm not sure what is going to happen now, Vicki. Trask went to the Judges and told them that Miss Collins had been affected by the witch and has withdrawn her claims. He said he has more proof of your witchcraft and will provide evidence in court of your placing Miss Collins under a spell."
"What? I put Miss Collins under a spell?" Vicki said in unbelief.
"Yes. I haven't had time to talk to Miss Collins, she went back to Collinwood. She seemed to be exhausted, and I didn't want to press her at this time. She has been helpful and did what she promised."
"Oh, Peter! What are we going to do? It seems that no matter what happens I am doomed!" Vicki replied and almost began to cry.
Peter took Vicki into his arms and held her close to him. "I don't know, Vicki, but you can't give up hope. I am sure that Miss Collins will get Mr. Collins to help us as she promised. We must find out what this evidence Trask has that will prove you a witch." And he held her closely, trying to protect her from all harm that he knew he couldn't prevent. He loved her so, and knew that he will fight to the very end to protect her and prove her innocence. Even if it meant the cost of his own life.
---------------------------
Evening had fallen at Collinwood, and Abigail Collins stood looking up at the tower room. She knew Barnabas would be awake soon and she hoped so very much that he would call to her. She felt the wounds that were beginning to try to heal on her neck and longed to be held by him. Moving away from the window, she walked over to the dresser and sat down. Removing all the pins and ribbons from her hair, she let the long tresses fall down her back. Taking a brush, she smoothed out the tresses and left them down. Never in her life since she was a young girl had she allowed anyone to see her with her hair down. Not even to Joshua. But she wanted to look her most tempting and appealing for her nephew. She loved him so and wanted him to take her into his arms!
Then, she heard his voice calling to her. "Abbey, come to me! I need you!" Her breath became rapid and her heart beat fast in her chest. At last. He had called to her. She had waited all these nights waiting to be near him and now he finally had called to her. Taking her shawl, and throwing it around her shoulders, she blew out the candles and opened the door. Looking down the hall to see if anyone could see her, and finding the corridor empty, she ventured towards the South wing that lead to the tower.
A few minutes later, she was unlocking the door to the tower and shut it quickly behind her. Turning around, she saw her love. "Barnabas!" He opened his arms to her and said, "Abbey, come to me." She moved over to him, almost floating and was embraced by her nephew. He held her and ran his hands down the long, black strands of hair that fell loosely down her back. Then moving them slowly aside and lifting her head up to meet his face, he bared his fangs. Abigail, full of desire and lust waited in anticipation. She leaned her head to one side, revealing her soft, white, supple neck, the vein pulsating violently. Barnabas reared back and sang his fangs into the flesh. Abigail moaned in ecstasy, yielding to the intense feeling that was overpowered by the sensual affects of that "vampire kiss". The emotions that flooded her mind were so strong and all-encompassing that she began to sway with weakness. Were it not for Barnabas strength, she would have fallen.
This intense emotional state lasted for quite some time. Long after Barnabas had released her, she would continue to remember and re-experience the joy and erotic pleasures of the flesh she had never known. She would have delighted in staying in that state of bliss at the moment, but her 'master' now had something he wanted her to do.
"Abigail, I want you to tell the judges you have information that will prove that Miss Winters is not the witch. I will give you all the facts and you will have help in this matter. But you must go to the judges as soon as possible, do you understand?"
"Yes, Barnabas." Abigail said in an almost dreamlike state. And then she remembered something. "Barnabas. I went to the judges today and told them what you had revealed to me and that I wanted all charges against her dropped, but Reverand Trask told them that Victoria had put a spell on me and that he had evidence that would convict her of witchcraft."
"What kind of evidence?"
"I don't know. He didn't say, just that he would present the evidence tomorrow." Abigail replied.
Barnabas walked towards the window. Then he smiled. "Don't worry, Abigial. It is all a bluff. Without your testimony, he hasn't a leg to stand on and he is aware of that. He has no evidence, he is merely stalling for time." Barnabas turned back around to his aunt and put his arms out to her once more. Abigail yielded readily and Barnabas whispered in her ear. He told her exactly what evidence "she" would present. When he was finished he kissed her and said, "Now, go. Help Miss Winters." And he turned back to look out the tiny window to the tower room.
Abigail turned to leave and then walked back towards him, "Are you sure this is going to work, Barnabas? Are you sure you can trust Angelique? Afterall, look what she has done to you?"
Barnabas wheeled around on his aunt and said in anger, "I said GO! Do as I tell you. I will have nothing bad said about Angelique. Do you understand?"
His red, firey eyes, burnt straight into her soul and she winced. "Yes, I understand." And Abigail left the tower room. She was angry with herself for upsetting her love. And she was determined to make sure that all Barnabas asked was taken care of.
"Abigail. What are you doing here?" came a voice behind her. She turned around and saw Naomi standing a few feet away down the corridor holding a candle. "Who were you talking to?"
