Angelique's Revenge Part 11
Date: 1/21/98
From: AngeliqueBouchard
Nicholas Blair peered at Vicki through the mirror hanging on his wall. The
morning sun shone down on her dark hair as she looked down through her bedroom
window at Collinwood's spacious gardens. Vicki had a hard time comprehending
the horrible events of the preceding night: Laura's return, the seance, poor
Roxanne attacked by a... vampire? How could that be possible? But her mother
had seen the creature transform into a bat before her very eyes. Combined with
Roxanne's blood loss from the puncture wounds on her neck there was no other
explanation the Stokes could offer.
"Don't trouble yourself Victoria," Nicholas said softly, a sinister
smile on his lips. "All your cares will melt away once I enter your life.
And I am coming soon Victoria, very soon."

Angelique Collins and her grandmother sat in the drawing room as an unusually
bright sun warmed the room. Angelique felt very close to her grandmother, who
had raised Angelique since her parent's death. Angelique's mother died in child
birth and her father joined her mother a few months later. It was such a sad
death. Although it was ruled an accident, the pervading belief was that he jumped
to his death into the icy waters surrounding Collinsport. The townsfolk said
the grief of loosing his wife was too much to bear. Angelique resented the looks
of pity she received from those who felt sorry for the "orphaned girl".
The ghost of Angelique Bouchard watched quietly as Angelique Collins talked
to her grandmother about the supernatural occurrences which plagued her since
arriving at Collinwood. It was unfortunate for Angelique that she would not
receive help she sought from her grandmother. For little did she know that her
grandmother was a servant to the spirit of their long dead ancestor.
"Angelique," her grandmother began, "I have always known this
day would come."
"What do you mean grandmother?" Angelique asked perplexed. "I
don't question your ability to foresee my future. I've been aware of your involvement
in white magic all of my life. What I mean is, you almost sound... happy?"
"You are right Angelique, I am happy. I am happy you were chosen,"
her grandmother replied with a placid look on her face.
Angelique was totally confused at this point. "Chosen for what?"
"I'm not exactly sure for what, but I do know by whom. By Angelique Bouchard."
"The name I told you Jeb Hawkes said last night? Is that the spirit reaching
out to me?"
"Yes, Angelique. It is she. Let me tell you her story. The year was 1795.
Angelique Bouchard lived on the island of Martinique. It was there that she
met a handsome man named Barnabas Collins. They had an affair, but Barnabas
Collins was concerned about social status, not love. He decided to marry Josette
duPres, the girl to whom Angelique was a servant. Angelique was heartbroken,
but determined to win Barnabas back. She did not tell him that their affair
produced a child. A girl whom she named Miranda. It was difficult, but Angelique
kept her pregnancy a secret and when Miranda was born she gave her to her sister,
Gabriella, to care for. Angelique sailed to Collinsport to reclaim Barnabas
and stop his marriage to Josette. Gabriella and Miranda arrived a few weeks
after Angelique only to be told that Angelique was gone. The Collins family
said she was unhappy with her position and suddenly departed from Collinwood.
Gabriella knew this was a lie. She knew her sister was dead. The Bouchard family
was skilled in the art of witchcraft. Angelique was able to communicate with
her sister from beyond the grave. Angelique said she was murdered and that she
would not rest until her death was avenged. Over the years Angelique has contacted
her female descendants in dreams. And now she has not only spoken to you, she
has chosen you to avenge her death and give her peace."
