Angelique's Revenge, Part 15
Date: 2/3/98

Angelique stared at the Bible which Barnabas held out. She turned and walked
towards the dresser. "Barnabas, I... I don't want to participate in the
burial. The thought of it frightens me."
"I understand," Barnabas said reassuringly. He moved from the bed
and once again held out the Bible to her, "Why don't you pick out something
and I'll read it for you when the remains are buried?"
"Ohh no, Barnabas," Angelique replied, "I really don't care what
you read. Could we change the subject? I don't want to think about this anymore."
"Of course, darling." Barnabas looked into Angelique's eyes and smiled.
"Professor Stokes was right, it would be difficult for a witch to touch
anything that symbolized holiness."
"Barnabas whatever are you talking about?" Angelique asked innocently.
Barnabas dropped his smile, "Don't play games with me, Angelique Bouchard.
I know my wife and you are not her."
Angelique stared at Barnabas. How much he reminded her of the man who fathered
her child in 1795. "You are an intelligent man. However did you know I
was a witch?"
Barnabas reached into his pocket and pulled out a necklace which he dangled
in front of Angelique's eyes. It was a pentagram, two points facing up. This
was found in your grave. The Stokes became suspicious when it was discovered.
Jeb sensed your evil presence in my wife's body and then all the pieces fell
into place."
"Well," Angelique said softly, "I can make you forget all about
your wife."
"I sincerely doubt that," Barnabas said confidently. "You will
leave Angelique's body now. As we speak your remains are being buried."
Angelique laughed mocking Barnabas' misplaced confidence. "It will take
more than that to defeat me."
Barnabas reached into his pocket again and pulled out a small vial. He splashed
holy water on her and said, "I command you to leave now!"
Angelique was quite humored by Barnabas' feeble effort and was about to tell
him so when she heard a muffled voice in the back of her mind. She listened,
tuning out Barnabas' voice. It became clearer, "Angelique Bouchard, I summon
you. Angelique Bouchard, I summon you to appear before me now."
"No, not now!" Angelique thought. Who would dare to summon her at
this moment? The voice became louder, drowning out Barnabas as he continued
to command Angelique to leave. "I summon you Angelique Bouchard. Appear
to me."
Angelique felt herself being pulled backward. The room started to fade as she
was drawn out of Angelique Collins' body which dropped into the waiting arms
of Barnabas.
Angelique Bouchard was in total darkness for a moment, then images began to
form. She started to see a room, lighted by a fireplace and many candles. A
person began to become clear before her. When she recognized the face, rage
rose up within her.
"Nicholas Blair, how dare you summon me!"
