Angelique's Revenge, Part 21
Date: 3/8/98
From: AngeliqueBouchard
Daphne sat in Laura's hotel room with Gerard. Despite Quentin's worries that
the vampire would summon her, as the Stokes had warned, he made a grievous mistake
by leaving Mrs. Johnson guard Daphne that evening. Mrs. Johnson proved easy
to entrance and fell into a deep sleep.
Laura and Gerard stood arguing as if Daphne was not even present. "You
have never made such an absurd decision Gerard," Laura said firmly. "It
is far too dangerous to turn her into a vampire. I will not allow another person
to know my secret and live."
Gerard replied coolly, "As usual, you are only thinking of yourself. You
come to Collinwood every hundred years or so and think nothing of me, except
to demand my unquestioning obedience."
Laura was infuriated. She had never had a confrontation with Gerard like this
before. "I'm going to tell you one more time. You will kill this girl and
not by draining her blood. Then you will go back to Collinwood and kill Quentin.
I have the feeling he is getting too close to the truth."
Gerard looked at Daphne and turned back to Laura, "We should talk outside."
As Laura and Gerard left the room, Daphne sat in a daze overcome by the vampire's
spell. She so desired for Gerard to take her in his arms and pierce her neck.
To feel his hot breath on her skin and his tongue on her flesh as he drank her
life away. But deep down in her heart she wanted to return to Collinwood and
be with Quentin so she could warn him of the impending danger and then for both
of them to leave Collinwood forever.
The door opened again, but only Gerard entered. As he moved toward her, Daphne
wondered how she would die tonight.
