Liz was walking down a long dark corridor. She could barely see as she made her way and when the glow of a candle approached her from behind she gladly turned to accept the light it offered. There stood Victoria Winters, but her clothes were all wrong and her hair was so different. Liz started to speak, but Vicky pressed her fingers to her lips and made the signal for silence. She gestured for Liz to follow her and they made their way along a series of hallways until they came to a doorway. Vicky held the candle up to the door and there was a message written on the wood. It said, 'All the answers are inside.' Liz opened the door with some trepidation and entered the room. The door slamed shut behind her and she was alone. There was an anitique mirror in the center of the room. She admired her reflection in the glass and then she saw a hand touch her from behind and her father face was behind her own. She screamed and the mirror broke and the pieces fell to the floor. Liz woke up and she was standing in the hallway outside of her aunt's room and she didn't why she was there. Had she been walking in her sleep? And why were all the lights out? The thunder outside quickly answered that question. It was storming? She questioned herself. But it had been all still and quiet and I was reading in the study, and...but she stopped. She couldn't remember how she how gotten from there to here and then she remembered she had heard someone screaming. She ran to Aunt Nora's room.
"Aunt Nora. Aunt Nora, are you awake? Aunt Nora, it's Elizabeth. I'm sorry to wake you, but I thought I heard you call out." She couldn't see anything and her foot kicked something soft across the floor. It startled her and a flash of lightening revealed it was just a pillow laying there.
"Aunt Nora?" She touched the edge of the bed and reached to shake her aunt, but her hand fell on an empty twisted coverlet. She felt a jab of fear. Something was not right here. She spoke in a louder tone of voice.
"Aunt Nora? Why aren't you answering me? What is wrong?" A bolt of lightning struck a nearby tree and the room was lit up with a brillant illumination. Liz was able to see that her aunt was not in the bed.
"Aunt Nora! Aunt Nora, where are you?" The wind blew the window open and the sheer white curtains billowed and furled with the onslaught of the night's fury. She quickly made her way to the window to secure it shut. She was wet with rain from her head to her toe by the time she had got the job done. She stood there breathing heavily and she plopped down on the bed wearily and that is when someone grabbed her hard about the ankle!
