Date: 12/22/00 3:40:29 PM Central Standard Time
From: N.E. Collins
Charlene was not a designer herself, so when there was no paperwork to be done and no phones to answer she was free to explore the great house on her own. She was fascinated with the place. There was something to see in every nook and cranny, and since the ghost of Quentin Collins had opened all the locked doors she quite accidently stumbled into the West Wing. Although there were no electric lights on in this part of the house, Quentin had provided an eeirie glow that permeated the atmosphere. He wanted Charlene to come closer to where his original room had been. Closer and closer she approached the room, but something distracted her. An old piece of furniture. A chair that was actually suspended on the wall, and after inspecting it she moved further away from his old room and began making tracks unknowingly towards Beth's.
Unlike Quentin's room, Beth's room had never been sealed off, and it had not ever been used as a room for storage. In fact, it was much the same as when she herself had lived in it back in the year 1897. It was well enough perserved and covered in dust and cobwebs, so that when Charlene chanced to open the door she saw before her an exact piece of the past. She was enraptured with her discovery. She wished that she'd had brought a camera with her and made a mental note to herself to bring one next time. But first, she said to herself, this room needs some cleaning up, and she set about the task.
She threw herself into the work of removing cobwebs and dusting, and this alerted
the ghost of Beth Chavez that someone was in her old room. The last room she could
have called her own in life. The last room she had had on earth before her fateful
plunge over the cliffs of Widows Hill as she had run terror stricken from Quentin
Collins believing him to still be possessed by the evil Count Petofi. The ghost
wavered invisibly and wondered who this woman was, and why was she here in her
room? Beth got a sense that Quentin was interested in this unknown woman and it
was because of that that Beth decided to possess her. Charlene never even knew
what hit her, but then that was nothing new for Charlene Stillfield.

Dark Shadows is a Dan Curtis Production.
