Subj: After Quentin Died Pt 3

Act 2 Scene 1

(An hour later. They're laying in bed.)

Quentin I have to go.

Angelique Why?

Quentin Gabriel asked me to be his best man.

Angelique When's the wedding?

Quentin In a week. (He slips out of bed and begins getting dressed.) They seem so happy.

Angelique That they do. (He finishes dressing and turns to her. They kiss and he exits.)

Act 2 Scene 2

(That evening at Maggie's home. Maggie opens the door. Angelique is there.)

Maggie May I help you Miss Bouchard?

Angelique Not really. I came here tonight to offer my warmest and sincere wishes for your happiness.(Maggie looks at her) The last time I saw you really wasn't the right time. I had come to say good-bye to a friend. (Maggie smiles)

Maggie Won't you come in? (Angelique smiles and enters.)

Act 2 Scene 3

(The next day at the office. Enter Quentin. Gabriel looks at him)

Gabriel What happened to you?

Quentin What?

Gabariel Who scratched you?

Quentin It was a misunderstanding.

Gabriel Between you and Angelique?

Quentin Yes. It's straightened out now.

Gabriel Good.

Quentin Getting nervous?

Gabriel No. Should I?

Quentin Well it's just a little over a week.

Gabriel I know. Quentin, if none of what happened did would you have married Sarah?

Quentin I don't think so.

Gabriel Why not?

Quentin Two reasons. The first being she didn't love me and the second being I didn't love her.

Gabriel Why did yu ask her to be your wife?

Quentin I'd heard from some people that she was plotting to break up your engagement to Maggie.

Gabriel so do you love Angelique?

Quentin Love? (He laughs) No. It's more lust. (Gabriel looks at him) She doesn't love me either. We're just good for each other.

Gabriel So when are you going to settle down?

Quentin When I find the right woman. (Enter Barnabas)

Barnabas Are you looking?

Quentin Yes.

Gabriel Barnabas, will you ever marry again?

Barnabas When Quentin finds and marries the woman for him I'll consider it. Until then no.

Quentin I haven't found anyone who I thought could actually marry into this family and stay sane. God knows we're not the easiest family to belong to.
