Angelique Hello Quentin.

Quentin Hello Angelique. May I come in?

Angelique That all depends.

Quentin On?

Angelique Why you want to come in.

Quentin I'd like to talk to you. (She looks at him) That's all.

Angelique Alright. (She steps back and he enters. She closes the door. They enter the library. Angelique sits in a chair and Quentin sits across from her.) What do you want to talk
about?

Quentin Why I'm not ready.

Angelique And why is that?

Quentin Sarah. (She looks at him) When Gabriel first started seeing her he thought that she was nice. Then I began to hear things.

Angelique What kind of things?

Quentin Like she couldn't wait to marry him so she could get her hands on his money. She would let him claim his rights as her husband if it didn't conflict with other plans.

Angelique So you stepped in and took her away from him?

Quentin No. Actually Maggie stepped in and took him from her. When I first met her she didn't know who I was. Then after she found out I couldn't be around her enough.

Angelique And you would have married her?

Quentin No. I only got her to accept my proposal after she found out my name was Collins. I only asked her to marry me because I'd heard that she was planning on stopping the wedding.

Angelique Did you think you would love her?

Quentin Maybe but I found out that she had a lover.Everytime she told me that she loved me it never reached her eyes.

Angelique So who was her lover?

Quentin Maggie's nephew.

Angelique So she soured you on relationships?

Quentin I just want to be sure before I make a commitment to a woman I want to make sure that it's me not my name that she wants.(Angelique smiles) Do you understand?

Angelique Yes I do. (She stands and walks over to him) I'm glad that you told me. (He pulls her down on his lap. They kiss passionately. Quentin stands with her in his arms and they exit.)

Act 3 Scene 1

(That night at Collinwood. Enter Quentin. He enters the library. Gabriel is there.)

Quentin Hello Gabriel.

Gabriel How's Angelique?

Quentin She's fine. She understands everything.

Gabriel Good. Did you know that she's agreed to....

Quentin ...be Maggie's maid of honor. She told me.

Gabriel Is that going to be a problem?

Quentin No. (He pours a glass of water. Gabriel stares) After what happened at Sarah's I'm
going to lay off brandy.

Gabriel I don't blame you.

Quentin Well next week you will be married.

Gabriel I can't hardly wait. (Quentin smiles) What?

Quentin What can't you wait for? The wedding or the honeymoon? (Gabriel opens his mouth) Don't tell me. The wedding. (Gabriel frowns) You already sampled the honeymoon pleasures. (Gabriel stares at him then turns red.)

Gabriel Maggie was right. You did know.

Quentin Yes. I figured I would leave you two alone.

Gabriel And?

Quentin I needed to talk to Angelique. We needed to get a few things straight.

Gabriel I'm glad.

Quentin So am I. (They put their glasses down and exit.)

Act 3 Scene 2

(One week later at Collinwood. A party is going on. Angelique and Maggie are talking.)

Maggie Thank you.

Angelique I didn't do anything.

Maggie Yes you did. You got everything straightened out.

Angelique Well he explained. (Enter Gabriel and Quentin) Hello Gabriel.

Gabriel Hello Angelique. How are you?

Angelique I'm fine.

Maggie Is it time?

Gabriel Yes. (Angelique smiles and hugs Maggie. She kisses Gabriel's cheek. Barnabas enters. He kisses Maggie's cheek and shakes Gabriel's hand. Quentin hugs Gabriel and kisses Maggie's cheek)

Quentin(W) At least you know what to do on your honeymoon. (She looks at him and turns red.) Bye. (He's smiling)

Maggie Quentin Collins...(She smiles at him then looks at Gabriel) I told you. (They exit.)

Act 3 Scene 3

(Six months later at Collinwood. Enter Quentin and Gabriel. Maggie greets them) Good evening.

Gabriel Hello Darling.(They kiss)

Quentin Hello Maggie. (They smile)

Maggie Quentin, Barnabas is waiting to talk to you. He's in the library.

Quentin Ok. (He exits.)

Maggie Gabriel, I wanted to wait until I was sure and now I am.

Gabriel About what?

Maggie I'm going to have a baby. (He looks shocked. He grabs her around the waist and spins her. They kiss. Enter Quentin and Barnabas. Gabriel looks at them.)
