Gerard Last night Quentin married another woman.

Angelique What? Who is she?

Gerard Take me to Quentin. I need to speak to him.

Gerard Sure. (She exits. She enters a few minutes later carrying a purse. They exit.)

Act 3 Scene 5

(Collinwood. Sarah is staring at Quentin. He won't meet her eyes. Gabriel is pacing.)

Gabriel How could you?

Sarah I'm sure Gabriel that there is a logical explaination.

Gabriel Like what? He forgot he was engaged?

Quentin It happened so fast that I don't know. It seemed like one minute we were lovers then the next we were married. (He shakes his head. Enter Gerard and Angelique. Quentin looks at them.)

Angelique Quentin please come with me. (He stands and they stop. Angelique looks around) No matter what you hear or see you're not to leave this room. (They exit. They enter another room. Angelique locks the door and Quentin sits in a chair.) Now tell me what happened?

Quentin Actually it was a normal business day. I was working at my desk when Jonique... (Angelique's eyes get wide)... brought me a couple of ledgers that she had found errors in. Then she brought me a cup of tea. She said it was her own blend. It was unusual but it was good.

Angelique How many cups of that did you drink?

Quentin Two...no three. Then she left for the day and Gabriel went down to meet Gerard. While he was gone she came back because she forgot a small purse.

Angelique Did anything of yours turn up missing?

Quentin No. (He looks at her) Wait. She did trim my hair.

Angelique After Gabriel and Gerard left what did you do?

Quentin I locked the office and went to get my horse. After I gotten my horse I remembered I'd forgotten to put a ledger away. I went back to the office and put it up. Then I got sleepy so I laid down on a cot.

Angelique Then?

Quentin I had what I thought was a dream only it's really a nightmare.

Angelique You woke up on the cot?

Quentin Yes. (She starts rummaging through her bag.)

Act 4 Scene 1

(An hour later at Collinwood. Gabriel, Sarah, and Gerard are sitting in the library)

Gabriel Do you know this woman?

Gerard She's Maggie's dressmaker and friend. She wants to help.

Sarah How can...(They hear loud voices then Angelique screams. Gabriel starts to get up but is stunned to see a shape of a woman. She shakes her head and points to the chair. Gabriel sits back down.)

Gerard You remember what she said. No matter what we hear or see we are not to leave this room.

Sarah But...(The shape disappears. They hear glass breaking and shouting. Quentin screams then silence. They look at each other. Angelique enters. Her hair is messed up, her dress is torn but she's smiling.) What happened? Is Quentin alright?

Angelique He will be after he rests for awhile. (She looks at them) When he wakes up he will be as he was before. Then all can take place as it should. (She exits.)

Act 4 Scene 2

(That afternoon at Jonique's room. She opens the door. Angelique is there. Jonique tries to shut the door but Angelique won't let her.)

Jonique What do you want you miserable old hag?

Angelique Now is that anyway to talk to your own flesh and blood?

Jonique What do you want?

Angelique I came to tell you, sister dear your spell over Quentin broken. I broke it this morning. (She takes out a small container. Jonique looks at her.) Now is the time for your age to show. (She smiles a cruel smile) You're true age. (She mumbles a few words and hands Jonique a mirror. She looks in it and she's very wrinkled and bent.)

Jonique How dare you Angelique Collins!

Angelique How dare you Jonique Blair! You are Nicholas' sister not mine! You're name is not Bouchard! You are here by sentenced to live in eternal damnation! (She sprinkles water on some stones in the container. They burst into flames. The room becomes filled with smoke for a few minutes. The smoke clears and Jonique is gone. Angelique smiles and exits.)

Act 4 Scene 3

(Two weeks later outside a church. Enter Maggie and Quentin. They are smiling. Angelique is standing by Gerard. Quentin and Maggie walk over.)

Angelique Maggie you are beautiful.

Quentin Angelique, what happened to her?

Angelique I don't know. She left. I just know that you two were meant to be together. Forever.

Maggie Yes. (They kiss.)

Act 4 Scene 4

(Present day.)

Quentin ... and Jonique Blair Colins was gon and never heard from again. That's why there are two brides listed for Quentin Collins.

David Do you really believe that they were witches?

Quentin Well...(Enter Maggie) I know I found the love of my life with a woman named Maggie.

Maggie It gets confusing.

Quentin Honey, you're just like the Maggie that married that Quentin.

Maggie I'll bet she was confused.

Quentin I'll say you were.(She looks at him) From what she told me she was. Are you still bothered?

Maggie Only by the fact I don't remember my childhood, high school, college things like that. (They kiss. David exits. She looks at Quentin.) But what the heck. I got you. (They smile and exit.)
