Act 2 Scene 3
(Quentin's office. Enter Barnabas. Robin smiles at him.)
Barnabas Hello.
Robin Hello Mr. Collins. How are you?
Barnabas I'm fine. Is Quentin in?
Robin Not yet. He's usually a little later today.
Barnabas Oh?
Robin He's scheduled a hair cut and a shave today. Would you like some coffee?
Barnabas Thank you. (She walks over and pours him a cup. She hands it to him and he puts it on the table. They kiss passionately) I'd like to pick you up after work.
Robin Ok. (She smiles) I leave here at five.
Barnabas I'll be here. (He kisses her. Enter Quentin. He clears his throat.) Hello cousin.
Quentin Hello Barnabas.
Robin Excuse me. (She goes to the filing cabinet. Barnabas and Quentin exit into his office.)
Barnabas And?
Quentin What? (Barnabas is looking at him) What?
Barnabas So who is she?
Quentin Who is who?
Barnabas The girl.
Quentin Her name is Josephine DuVal. How'd you know?
Barnabas I have spies. (Quentin stares) Actually there is a message from her.
Quentin Oh. (He smiles) What brings you down here? Besides my secretary.
Barnabas I've heard rumors that you're in danger.
Quentin Me? Why?
Barnabas Someone is out to get your soul. I don't know who.
Quentin Who?
Barnabas I don't know that either. Be careful.
Quentin I will. So did you and Robin have a nice time?
Barnabas Yes we did.
Quentin What are your intentions?
Barnabas What?
Quentin Are your intentions honorable sir?
Barnabas Who do you think you are? Her father?
Quentin No. I just want to know if I need to start looking for a new secretary.
Barnabas Things are looking very promising. (They smile.)
Act 2 Scene 4
(Angelique's home. Enter Angelique. She opens the door. Enter Robin. Joey is behind her. Angelique shuts the door and they enter the library)
Robin There has been a spell cast.
Angelique Who?
Robin I don't know. I just feel it.
Joey How is Barnabas? (She smiles)
Robin Well....
Angelique She has went to bed with him.
Robin And I plan on doing that as often as he will co-operate. He's a fantastic lover. He's gentle.
Angelique What about Quentin?
Joey I haven't heard from him. Robin are you sure about that spell?
Robin Yes. It hasn't been cast over Barnabas.
Angelique That leaves Quentin.
Joey I haven't heard from him. I will got to him.
Angelique Ok. Be careful. If the spell has been cast we all will need to be careful.
Joey Yeah. (She looks at her watch.) I'd better go. (She exits.) Robin It's going to happen this time. Isn't it?
Angelique Yes. We will win. We have Joey.
Robin And this time Barnabas will not interfere.
Angelique We will make sure. (They exit.)
Act 2 Scene 5
(Quentin's apartment. He opens the door and Joey enters. He opens his mouth and she kisses him passionately. They exit.)
Act 3 Scene 1
(Jonique's apartment. She's pacing and someone knocks on the door. She opens it and Jeb enters. They kiss and exit.)
Act 3 Scene 2
(Quentin's apartment later that evening. They are in bed and Joey is asleep. Quentin is looking at her.)
Quentin Why are you here? You're not the one who should be here! (Joey looks at him)
Joey What? What are you talking about? (He whispers something and grabs her around the throat. He begins to strangle her.)
Quentin How dare you?! (Joey gets her legs between her and Quentin. She shoves him back with all of her strength and he flies off the bed. She runs to the bathroom and locks the door. She begins to get dressed. Quentin begins to pound on the door) I'm going to kill you!
Joey Quentin? What is wrong with you? What did I do?
Quentin You are evil! You're trying to take me away from my beloved one! (She looks around and sees a vase. She looks up at the ceiling and mouths thanks. She grabs it and unlocks the door. Quentin runs against it and it opens. He falls through and she hits him with the vase. He's knocked out and she flees.)
Act 3 Scene 3
(Jonique's apartment. Jeb and Jonique are in bed. He's holding her and smiling. She shivers)
Jonique Does she suspect you?
Jeb No. Why should she?
Jonique We have to neutralize her. It has begun.
Jeb Ok. How? (She smiles and whispers in his ear. He laughs and nods.) That'll do it.
Jonique I know. Step one is in progress.
Act 3 Scene 4
(Joey's apartment. Enter Joey. She exits. She enters the livingroom a few minutes later. Angelique is there. She is staring at Joey)
Joey You know.
Angelique Yes. Are you alright?
Joey Yes. He didn't hurt me. I was on my guard.
Angelique So he is the one.
Joey How do we break the spell?
Angelique Well we'll need Quentin, hair from the witch, blood from both and luck.
Joey Ok. Why would they do this?
Angelique I don't know. What did he say exactly and what were the actions?
Joey "Why are you here? You're not the one who should be here!"
He was whispering something.
Angelique Could you understand it?
Joey He kept saying I had seduced him and he was sorry.
Angelique Then?
Joey He tried to strangle me. I shoved him off and ran into bathroom. I locked the door and got dressed.
Angelique How did you get away?
Joey I hit him with a vase. I unlocked the door and let him "break it down". I ran as soon as he hit the floor.
Angelique What did he say as he was trying to strangle you?
Joey I was evil and I was trying to keep him from his beloved one. What is it?
Angelique She cast a blood fever. She is the only one who will not be evil in his eyes. (She looks at Joey) Did you and Quentin....?
Joey Yes. All night. (She smiles)
Angelique Then we can break the spell. She doesn't have a total hold.
Joey How can I help?
Angelique Get some rest. You are going to need it.
Joey Why would someone want to give blood fever? It's dangerous to everyone.
Angelique That is to everyone but the one who casts the spell. They can then control the person.
