Act 1 Scene 1

(Collinwood. Enter Quentin. He's smiling as he enters the library. Gabriel is there.)

Quentin Hello.

Gabriel How was you trip?

Quentin Very profitable.

Gabriel Good. I have to go out of town.

Quentin What's happened? (He stops smiling)

Gabriel Chris has been hurt.

Quentin Bad? (Gabriel shrugs) Is Sarah going with you?

Gabriel No. She has something she needs to do here.

Quentin How long will you be away?

Gabriel Not more than four days.

Quentin Alright. (They exit.)

Act 1 Scene 2

(That night Quentin is asleep. Someone enters his room and slips into his bed. They kiss him passionately and he responds. He touches a body and jerks back. He lights the lamp and Sarah smiles at him.) What do you think you're doing?

Sarah There are feelings between us. You proved that.

Quentin You are Gabriel's wife. Go back to your bed.

Sarah I don't love Gabriel. I can't stand him to touch me. I need a real man, Quentin. I need you.

Quentin What you need is to grow up. (She kisses him again. He shoves her away from him.) Get out.

Sarah I won't tell Gabriel.

Quentin What won't you tell? That I turned you down?

Sarah I...

Quentin Maybe what you won't tell is that everyone was right. You're a tramp. (She slaps him. She gets out of bed and exits. She slams his door.) It's going to be a long four days. (He gets out of bed and locks the door. He goes back to bed and blows out the lamp.)

Act 1 Scene 3

(The next day at the office. Quentin is looking out his window. He shakes his head and turns away. Sarah walks by and enter a doorway three buildings down. She goes to a door and opens it. she walks in and a man grabs her. They kiss passionately.)

Act 1 Scene 4

(An hour later she's getting dressed.)

Sarah I honestly thought he would go through with it but he refused. Gabriel is supposed to be back in a few days. I can't very well convince him that Quentin raped me if he won't touch me. (She looks at him)But I have a plan. (They smile.)

Act 1 Scene 5

(That night at Collinwood. Enter Quentin. Sarah is in the library. She looks up as he enters.)

Quentin Excuse me. (He turns to leave.)

Sarah Quentin wait. (He stops) I wanted to tell you that I'm sorry about last night.

Quentin You are my brother's wife. I won't hurt him by allowing that to happen. (She stands. She walks to the bar. She pours two drinks and walks back. She hands one to him)

Sarah Here's to not letting anything happen. (They touch glasses and drink) Now if you will excuse me I think I'll go to my room. (She smiles and exits.)

Quentin Strange. (Someone knocks on the door and Quentin walks out to it. He opens the door and Gerard is there.) When did you get in? (Gerard enters and he closes the door.)

Gerard An hour ago. I went to the office but you'd already left. Where's Gabriel?

(They enter the library)

Quentin Chris got hurt and he left yesterday. He'll be back day after tomorrow.

Gerard Did Sarah accompany him?

Quentin No. (He finishes his drink and puts the glass down.) Would you like one?

Gerard No. I have to meet someone.

Quentin Oh?

Gerard Yes. Her name is Julia. Hoffman I believe is her last name.

Quentin Sounds interesting. Don't let me keep you. (He smiles. They walk to the door and Gerard opens it. He exits and Quentin closes it. He walks back into the library and sees his glass has liquor in it.) I would have sworn I finished that. (He shrugs and downs it in one drink. He exits. Sarah enters and smiles)

Sarah Very soon. (She laughs and exits.)

Act 2 Scene 1

(A room. Gerard enters and knocks on the door. A woman answers it.)

Julia Gerard. It's good of you to come.

Gerard You didn't leave me any choice. (He enters and she closes the door.)

Act 2 Scene 2

(Collinwood. Enter two men. Sarah points up the stairs. They exit. They enter at the top of the stairs and begin opening doors. They open Quentin's door and he's laying across him bed passed out. They pick him up and carry him outside to a wagon. They place him in it. Sarah's sitting there. They climb up and drive away.)

Act 2 Scene 3

(The next morning. Quentin opens his eyes and looks around. He sees a door. He stands and walks to it. He tries it but it's locked. He hears footsteps approaching the door. He stands to one side and Joshua opens the door. Quentin grabs him from behind around the neck.)

Quentin If you aren't ready to meet your maker then I would suggest that you start talking.

Joshua I don't think so. (Quentin looks as Ron enters with Sarah.) Now let me go.

(Quentin releases him. He stares at Sarah as Ron shoves her toward him. They exit. She sits on the bed and looks at Quentin.)

Sarah Friends of yours?

Quentin What? I've never seen them before. They're probably your low life friends.

Sarah I...

Quentin What did you put in my drink? (He walks to her.) Answer me!
