The two immortals stood in the basement. Nicholas, had begun to grow tired of Lestat already."Bring Anne Collins to me day after tomorrow."
Lestats' own patience was growing increasingly thin. He hated being ordered and bandied about. All he wanted to be done with all this and to leave this wretched, dreary village, and never to see it again-especially Barnabas.
Shifting his weight, his eyes narrowed with suspension at Nicholas, "Nich-o-las, I will not wait much longer!" Nicolas only smiled through his gritted teeth and thought to himself damn, he hated this concieted bastard!
Nicolas knew that Lestat concidered him below his class, but in true to his fashion, Nicolas kept his resolve and was slick with the vampire.
He toyed with his signature ring. Thinking fast of the ways to pacify, to keep Lestat satisfied.
A rogueish smile played upon the lips of Nicholas. "Now, Lestat, you must understand that the equipment that is needed will take at least another day even two to arrive, and until that time, you must keep Anne hidden."
"Now, surely a man as handsome and charming as yourself, should find that easy enough to do," quickly the smile faded, turning quite serious and all deception gone, "and besides Barnabas already believes that we are in together with his wifes disappearance. I DO NOT need him or Willie coming and discovering the machine once its here."
Lestat, thoroughly tired of this menial "job" that he had been forced into taking, turned with an air of destain, and began to ascend the stairs, stopping for a moment half-way up. Turning back to Nicholas, "I will keep the woman with me..for now, but I want that brat removed from her as soon as the machine is ready."
Nicholas looked at him, smiling, his eyes flickering. "Why in so much of a hurry?" Nicholas smiled, "you really DO want to keep her for yourself, don't you? Are you taking her with you when you leave?"
Lestat replied with bitterness, "I have been through many years of hatred for Barnabas, and now the chance to distroy his happiness is too delicious to pass up."
He left to return to be with Anne.
