After her feasting, she drewback into a fetal position. Crying, she wiped away her tears, as she did, she looked at her hands in horror. Her tears were blood. Barnabas noticed her fright, and quietly said "the vampires tears. She snapped her head towards him, needing to know what was happening to her. He looked to her with pain, torture and anguish in his dark brooding eyes. He hated himself, but she had asked to be this way, and his need for blood had been too great. "You are now as am."

Come, we must leave. I have much to show you. I will show you what the eyes of mankind has never seen. If a mortal were to see these things, he would go blind. But you must, you need to know what your future horrors are. Not only the bitter lonely nights, but hatred and rejection from all. No longer will you love or be loved. But where I am to take you is the Land of Damnation. This is what the future will be like for you, lonely and frightening. I will be here to guide you. He again noticed her fear. And told her that what she would see, she would always remember. He gently held out his slender hand for her. She took it hesistantly. They walked towards the doorAnd as he opened it. She stopped. All she saw beyond he door was darkness and smelled only death. He lead her outside, pulling her with urgency.

They stepped upon what, at first she thought was sand, but much coarser, more like charred pieces of glass. They walked for what seemed hours.

A ghost of what could only be described as the sun, began to rise. She had wished tht it didn't. Once in awhil, she would spot a movement in the distance, but she couldn't make out what it was. For, if she had, she knew that it wold cause her to go quit mad.

A noise to her left. She turned to look. She let out a small cry. It was horrid! It was something that had come from nightmares.

It appeared small, limping and contorted. There were scars the whole of what seemed a body, it scurried away again in fright. She grabbed towards Barnabas, but her jerked away. No, he would not give her compassion, it was too late.

Walking still further, the weak light from the sun, showed a changing landscape.

Burned desert, to stumps of brush, and then to burned ruins of forests.

All she wanted was to awaken anywhere, alive.

"Come, we are not at the end of our journey".....................
